TO: WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. COMPLAINT ID # 12588165 I AM FORWARDING TO YOU THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT BETWEEN ORION FLOORING & [redacted]. IF YOU READ THE CONTRACT IT STATES THAT WE ORDERED 3 PRE-FAB BLACK GALAXY GRANITE SLABS TO INSTALL 2 VANITIES IN UP STAIRS ...
BATHROOMS. 4 RECTANGLE UNDER-MOUNT SINKS. ALSO WE WOULD DO DEMO. & DISPOSAL OF CURRENT TOP. ALSO THE PLYWOOD SUB-TOP TO ATTACH GRANITE TO WOULD BE INSTALLED. WE SIGNED THE CONTRACT 12-13-2017. ALL OF WHAT WE AGREED TO DO WAS DONE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 12-23-2017. CUSTOMER IS NOT DISPUTING WE GAVE HIM EXACTLY WHAT WE CONTRACTED FOR & DID A GREAT JOB. WE TRIED TO INSTALL SOONER BUT FOR VARIOUS REASONS ON BOTH SIDES WE COULD NOT. HOWEVER ORION FEELS WE INSTALLED IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE TIME OF YEAR. THE BLACK GALAXY WAS NOT SOMETHING ORION HAS STOCK AT ANY OF OUR SHOW ROOMS SO IT HAD TO BE SPECIAL ORDERED. ALL CUSTOM ORDERS ARE NOT FULLY REFUNDABLE ESPECIALLY NATURAL STONE & SETTING MATERIALS.ALL COMPANIES THAT DO TAKE MATERIALS BACK ON SPECIAL ORDERS CHARGE 25% RESTOCKING FEE WHEN THEY DO TAKE BACK SUCH MATERIALS. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE WE LET ALL CUSTOMERS KNOW UP FRONT & EVEN PUT INFORMATION AT BOTTOM OF CONTRACT BY SIGNATURE SO THERE IS NO ISSUE EVER WITH RETURNS. AS FOR PLUMBING IT IS STANDARD WITH ALL CABINET, COUNTER-TOP, FLOORING & SHOWER RETAILERS WHEN SELLING JOBS NEEDING PLUMBING TO LET CUSTOMER KNOW UP FRONT THAT WE ARE NOT PLUMBING CONTRACTORS SO WE DO NOT INCLUDE PLUMBING ISSUES WITH OUR REMODELS. IF CUSTOMER WANTS HELP FINDING PLUMBER WE HAVE MANY PLUMBERS THAT WE CAN REFER. BUT THEY WOULD CONTRACT WITH PLUMBING COMPANY DIRECT AS THEY HAVE INSURANCE, LICENSED & BONDED TO DO PLUMBING WORK. OUR INSTALLATION CREWS ARE VERY GOOD AT WHAT WE DO HOWEVER WE ARE NOT PLUMBERS SO WE LEAVE THAT WORK TO PLUMBING PROFESSIONALS. ITS NOT JUST OUR COMPANY ITS WELL KNOWN THAT ALMOST NO COMPANY WILL TOUCH PLUMBING. AVERAGE COST FOR PLUMBING HOOK UP IS BETWEEN 225 & 350 FOR SINKS INCLUDING NEW PARTS. VANITY MIRRORS THAT ARE INSTALLED FROM BUILDER OF HOUSE ARE USUALLY COST EFFECTIVE COSTING BETWEEN 85-150 FOR MIRROR. INSTALLATION OF MIRROR USUALLY COST 75-125. THE MIRRORS THAT THE BUILDERS USE USUALLY ARE GLUED TO WALL SO WHEN REMOVING THOSE TO REMODEL BATHROOM SOMETIMES THEY BREAK. SOMETIMES WE CAN GET THEM OFF WITHOUT BREAKING IT DEPENDS ON HOW WELL BUILDER GLUED THEM TO THE WALL. ORION FLOORING IS NOT A GLASS OR MIRROR RETAILER AND WE DON'T HAVE EXPERIENCE CUTTING OR INSTALLING MIRRORS AS WE DO FLOORING CABINETS & COUNTER-TOPS. SO WE ADVISE ALL CUSTOMERS THAT ITS POSSIBLE THAT MIRRORS WILL BREAK AND WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BROKEN MIRRORS. IN THIS CASE WE ADVISED CLIENT MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAD HIM GIVE US THE APPROVAL TO DEMO TOPS. OUR FABRICATOR EVEN CALLED ME WHEN AT CUSTOMERS HOUSE DOING DEMO AND I TALKED TO CLIENT AND REMINDED HIM WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. AFTER CLIENT DELIBERATED ABOUT IT HE HAD MY INSTALLER GO AHEAD AND DEMO TOPS WE WERE ABLE TO SAVE 1 VANITY MIRROR HOWEVER THE 2ND VANITY MIRROR DID BREAK. AFTER JOB WAS FINISHED CLIENT NEVER CONTACTED ORION FLOORING TO TALK ABOUT ANY ISSUES. SO I WAS SURPRISED WHEN WE GOT COMPLAINT. IF YOU READ CONTRACT WE NEVER CONTRACTED TO DO PLUMBING OR REPLACE MIRRORS I COULD HAVE MADE IT EASIER AND SCHEDULED A CONTRACTOR TO DO EITHER PLUMBING OR REPLACE MIRROR BUT CLIENT WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICE. ORION DID MAKE IT CLEAR THE SIZE & SCOPE OF OUR DUTIES AS PERTAINING TO THIS JOB. AS FAR AS BALANCE OF THE BLACK GALAXY MATERIALS OUR FABRICATOR BROUGHT ALL LEFT OVER PCS AND GAVE THEM TO CUSTOMER. CUSTOMER EVEN TOLD THEM WHERE TO PUT MATERIALS. IN CONCLUSION ORION FLOORING WENT TO CUSTOMERS HOUSE GAVE ESTIMATE SOLD MATERIAL & INSTALLATION OF 2 VANITIES. WE INSTALLED BOTH VANITIES WITH SINKS & DID ALL DEMO & DISPOSAL JUST AS WE WERE CONTRACTED TO DO. WE ADVISED CUSTOMER OF ALL PLUMBING & MIRROR ISSUES IN ADVANCE OF DOING ANY DEMO OR INSTALLATION .I THINK THIS JOB WAS COMPLETED PROPERLY IN A TIMELY FASHION AND IM NOT SURE WHAT ELSE I COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT THIS COMPLAINT. WE ARE SORRY FOR ANY COMMUNICATION ISSUES & WOULD BE HAPPY TO GIVE DISCOUNT TO CUSTOMER ON ALL FUTURE ORDERS BUT OUR MARGIN WAS TIGHT ON THIS JOB SO WE COULD GIVE GREAT PRICE WITH GREAT INSTALL. CUSTOMER HAD NO ISSUE WITH OUR PRICE HE PAID IN FULL & INSTALL WAS GREAT NO ISSUES LOOKS AND FUNCTIONS AS ITS SUPPOSED TO. SO THAT JUST LEAVES US WITH PLUMBING WHICH CUSTOMER NEEDED & THEY DID NOT CONTRACT WITH US TO DO. IT ALSO LEAVES US WITH ONE BROKEN MIRROR WHICH BEFORE IT BROKE I PERSONALLY TALKED TO CUSTOMER SELWYN BRYAN HE WAS FULLY UNDERSTANDING THAT IT MIGHT BREAK AND GAVE US PERMISSION TO GO AHEAD TO COMPLETE JOB. I CLEARLY ADVISED HIM WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE HE WAS NOT HAPPY BUT DID UNDERSTAND. THANK YOU FOR HEARING OUR SIDE OF THIS COMPLAINT. WE STRIVE TO GIVE GREAT SERVICE FOR GREAT PRICE! OUR REFERRALS THAT WE GET EACH YEAR & OUR REVIEWS TELL THE STORY. HOWEVER WE DO NOT LIKE TO KNOW THAT ANY CLIENT IS NOT HAPPY. WE KNOW WE CAN NOT MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY BUT WE DEFINITELY TRY. ORION WILL TRY TO WORK HARD TO MAKE SURE ALL CUSTOMERS UNDERSTAND THESE ISSUES IN THE FUTURE SO WE DO NOT HAVE TO RESPOND TO FUTURE COMPLAINTS ON THESE ISSUES.
