We took our dog to them to be treated for a cut on his head. They wanted to preform a $600+ surgery for stitches, which we declined. When asked about alternative treatments(like glue or a tape?) we were told "We gave you our suggestion." And wanted us to bay a $200 bill. When asked for a breakdown of the cost (what the visit cost, what each med/cream cost, etc.) they refused, saying "When you pay you will get a breakdown of the cost."
I feel this vet was capitalizing and price gauging because there are so few vet offices open during this covid shut down.

I am rejecting this response because:The reply was a lie. We never wanted surgery. We asked for alternatives to surgery, which we were never given an explanation as to WHY we could not explore alternatives to surgery. They simply said they recommended surgery. We specifically asked for a break down in cost so we could decide what to get from their office and what to get from alternative sources. A cost of each item was not given despite asking for it several times. We were told to pay the bill and the break down would be listed. Never has a company REFUSED to give a list of what they wanted you to pay before you paid it. We ultimately refused all meds since the office refused to tell us WHAT meds cost how much, and only paid for what we needed at that moment - which they refused to tell us HOW MUCH we would pay without the meds until we actually got the receipt back. The entire visit was less than an hour, including waiting to be seen in the first place, and waiting for someone to return to the front after they decided we were not worth their time and left without giving a cost breakdown.The entire experience could have been avoided with a little bit of explanation, exploration, and/or understanding on the part of the office staff. They refused to explain their stand on WHY surgery was their only recommendation and refused to give us the cost of each item they wanted us to pay for.
