Oroville Sports Club

Review: went in to the club and was told [redacted] the billing lady needed to speak to me. She informs me my credit card was declined and that she the Oroville sports club was charging me a $40.00 fee. I told her that she must be doing something wrong because the card she has on file is my business card and there was plenty of money. I told her she must be doing something wrong because I use it everyday for business use with no restrictions. she proceeds to have me get my card out and she goes oh that's why its a debit card? I said well you have been charging it for the last year and a half with no problems and she is the one who signed me up and took the card. so she gets out the photo copied card she took and it said debit on it. she was then speechless.I proceeded to explain to her that I take credit cards at my place of business and if a card is declined there is no charge to the merchant and why was she trying to charge me? she had no response. my card was fine all credit cards had to meet chip card regulations and all she had to do is ask for a new card or a different form of payment. at that point she was so rude I cancelled my membership on site and told her to charge me for any cancellation fees I was done so I thought. 2 weeks later I get a bill from collections saying I owe 40 dollars. my bank manager even tried contacting them letting them know my account is fully funded and was never at any point in a decline state. The business practice and professionalism at this establishment is horrible. this coming from a business owner of over 20 years without one single complaint!Desired Settlement: I feel this is insane for them to try to charge me this fee, further more I think it is unethical for them to take a photo copy of my credit card and have it on file I think this is a serious security problem. if my credit has been hampered any by this they should be liable.
