believe that the patient did in fact receive the piece of durable medical equipment in question but our conclusion is simply based on paperwork we have filed and if the patient signed off on the paperwork but didn’t take or didn’t actually receive it, which could happen this something that I can’t proveIt is possible that we processed the paperwork and failed to dispense the deviceAgain, anything could have happen and to our practice we feel it is not worth fighting over $I have contacted the collection company to cease attempts to collect and we will write off the debtI must say that I was very surprised to even receive this letterI believe this is the first I have seen in the ten years I have been the administrator but again, it is difficult to remember everything that one handles in that amount of timeBest wishes to our patient, I apologize for any inconvenience they have endured through this processPlease respond to me if you would so that I know the dispensation of this and that it has been receivedThank you for your assistanceAlso, *** *** is no longer with the group, he retired in Thanks*** ** *** *** Practice Administrator Orthopedic Associates of Middletown, PC Saybrook Road Suite Middletown, Connecticut office ###-###-####

It is possible that we processed the paperwork and failed to dispense the device. Again, anything could have happen and to our practice we feel it is not worth fighting over $60.00. Review: I went to this doctor and or facility for physical therapy and treatment of a sore right shoulder. The office said I signed a serie of forms to process the bill, HIPA info..whatever. This doctor referred me to a specialist. They are billing me for an overhead pulley, which I never received. Melanie in the billing office said I signed for it and received it I never received said pulley. She never returns my calls. I even said they could send it to me, because I never received it, but I am beyond that now. My husband called and they didn't return his call. All they do is send this bill for $60.00, twice now. I never received this pulley, have tried to resolve this and they just ignore me. And my husband too. Could you please help me with this. I believe they are engaged in fraudulent billing. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I fear that I may not be the only victim. The billing department of the office is adding items to invoices for services or items never received. They are being arrogant and not even responding. They think the fear of damage to my credit is enough to force me to pay this bill, BUT, I am not paying for an item, i.e.,overhead pulley that I never received. It is only $60.00. Why would I go to all this bother to save 60.00. Thank you for your organization and your service.
