I was recently surprised to find a Valet Waste Corp. container outside my apartment door. No notice of their new service was disseminated to us tenants. My practice is to contact service companies directly rather that deal with second- and third-hand information from the local office personnel. I Emailed Valet Waste about their billing schedule - per-pickup or a flat monthly fee. I got a reply from a Tier-1 Customer Support person who advised me to contact the local office. I replied that my preference was to deal with service companies directly. Within half-an-hour I received a satisfactory answer from another Valet Waste person.

I expected to be bounced back to the local office personnel, but Valet Waste reasonably just answered the question. Whereas this was not a "Pick-up Service" issue, it was a "Customer Service" issue. The former is understandably prone to on-site mistakes, but the latter is not granted that leniency. In this instance, Valet Waste performed to my satisfaction, demonstrating a clear customer-conscientious attitude.
