I was a patient at this clinic in 2016 due to a MVA. I had surgery to repair an injured hip and follow-up treatment. During the course of my treatment; I was in litigation with the individual that was at fault for MVA. This medical office was aware of my medical issue and personal financial circumstances. Due to the multiple doctors I was seeing for multiple injuries, I had numerous outstanding bills. This office was included. As my litigation was coming to an end, I received a subpoena from a collections agency. This clinic has sent me to collections over a $300 bill from my hip surgery. The following week my case was closed and I was able to pay the entire bill off. However, since they decided to not be civil, the bill tripled because it was with a collection agency. Just last week, my credit report was hit from another “collect agency” (never was hit prior) that I still owe this outstanding bill. Now, I’m disputing this bill with the collection agency and credit report. The clinic is fraudulent and uses fraudulent collections agencies for collect. The clinic has NO empathy for injured people, and they are greedy! My hip is still injured, so the doctor isn’t good as well.
We agreed to work with you and many patients who have financial difficulties and offer budget plans to allow time in paying off balances. You were making a few payments of $10 over several months and stopped paying March 2017. We have documentation of several phone calls and 16 collections letters sent to you in a period of one year. You did not respond to any of our efforts to reach out to you for payment. You were sent a final notice on May 15, 2017 to let you know we were sending you to our collection agency due to your lack of response and lack of continued payments. Our financial policy which you signed stated the patient is responsible to pay their account balance in full. We do not send patients to collections agencies unless absolutely necessary. It was an entire year from the date of your surgery to your last payment in full which was collected and mailed to us from the collection agency. From a business standpoint if we allowed every patient to take a year to pay their account balance off in full, we would not be a viable business.
Our collection agency is very reputable and professional. Once your account has been turned over to the collection agency, your credit report standing is between you and the collection agency and bureau. The credit bureaus are under no obligation to remove an account from their credit reports before it legally ages off which the industry standard is about 7 years from the last activity.
In addition, your language was abusive to our staff and we prefer not to treat patients who use abusive language and who do not pay their bills within a reasonable time frame. We believe a year is a very reasonable timeframe to allow patients to pay their account balance.

I am rejecting this response because: ultimately the corresponding that being done is not helping anyone. The individual responding on behalf of the clinic, continues to repeat themselves and not address the subject matter. I do not wish to work with a business that is charging me a second time for a bill that has been paid and is now on my credit report. Obviously, this clinic double dips with collecting bills and they don’t care at the expense. This clinic is not valuable to me or anyone else because they over bill people and do not resolve the problem, release HIPPA information, and make lies up. Please don’t contact me anymore. If I can’t resolve this credit issue and deny the additional bill from your office, you’ll be hearing from my attorney. Again, don’t contact me ever again.
