Not acceptable because I did not finish the work that they were supposed to do we closed on our home it was not easy that was just one of the issues This company held us hostage for $or we're not continue work and then never completed the work they agreed to do This is a very unprofessional company .

The first day we were on the job *** *** was there and my men were in the basement tearing out the existing set of stairsPrior to them starting work *** informed my three workers that his wife and daughter would be leaving the houseSomething fell and almost injured one of the works and
cursed*** came down and asked what the ruckus was and cursingMy employee apologized and explained what happened and that they thought the wife and daughter were gone.? I also contacted the consumer and apologize and the job went smoothly from that point on until we had to purchase more materialI sent him a bill for the additional materialsThe customer praised us throughout the jobHe was doing remodeling in his basement and when we took the old stair case out it was installed against the drywallHe had drywallers in the basement and told my guy directly not to worry about the drywall because it was being dry walled anywayHe forgot to tell the drywallers to fix it and blamed my company so I ended up having my guy fix the drywallThey paid with credit card which provides a receipt for paymentThe customer called the office twice wanting to dispute the bill and I discussed it with him and he started cussing at me and said he was not paying meI never cussed backThe wife felt so bad that she went ahead and paid the bill because she knew we did the workThis happened in February and they said they were going to be selling the house and we wished them luckThey got the house sold in MayThey told us that the title company wanted a lien waiver from usThis should not have been necessary because she had a receipt from her credit card companyThe wife called and also started cussingI explained that the lien waiver is usually requested upon final payment and that she had the receiptThis led to the Revdex.com complaint and there is no law that requires me to provide her with a lien waiverThe staining of the stairs they did themselves as it was not part of the scope of workThis is someone trying to get more than what was contracted for and did not want to payIf they will contact me and apologize for cussing at me, using the F word, and provide the title company name, phone number and contact person I will contact the title company

This man is not telling the truthWe did finish the stairs and they paid us after we were doneSo how could we have held anything over their heads if they paid the bill in fullThe work was done when they paid us the extra on the jobIf they felt we did not do additional work why would they have paid the billThey brought up this complaint because they wanted a lien waiver for their closing which was done months later after we did the workWhy would someone wait five months to complain about work that was done in their homeNo the work was done to their satisfaction and they paid the billThis complaint is just unwarrantedI gave the man a $credit to start the job on upgraded box newels (free upgrade worth $480.00)The facts are this we did a great job and that is what the owners told my workers on siteThey paid the bill and the extra because we did a great job and finished our contractual agreementmonths later they sold and closed on their houseWe had not heard from them since we finished five months priorAll of a sudden Mrs*** starts calling and emailing that she wants a lien waiver nowAfter her husband cussed at me three times when we were trying to collect our final payment I was not in any hurry to obligeThen when Mrs*** said to us she had been waiting "***" weeks and she wanted the lien waiver now I was offended again by the ***s, this time by the wifeI was taken a back by thisMr*** never states what we did not finish because there is nothing left to finish on our contractIf there was a BCB Better Customer Bureau I am sure the ***s would not have an A+ ratingIf they continue on I will send you pictures of the stair and you can decide there the work looks impeccable or notI have been in business years and the reason is we do a great job at a reasonable priceI gave this man a price on his stairs years ago and he remembered to call me after 4years to do his stairs no one elseThat should tell you he was willing to wait years for ORTMANN STAIR COMPANY TO DO THE WORKThank you,?

The work was done when they paid us the extra on the job. If they felt we did not do additional work why would they have paid the bill. They brought up this complaint because they wanted a lien waiver for their closing which was done 5 months later after we did the work. Why would someone wait five months to complain about work that was done in their home. No the work was done to their satisfaction and they paid the bill. This complaint is just unwarranted. I gave the man a $480.00 credit to start the job on upgraded box newels (free upgrade worth $480.00). The facts are this we did a great job and that is what the owners told my workers on site.
