First off, I would like to formally apologize for your dissatisfaction with OSR Physical Therapy's billing practicesWe pride ourselves in customer service and quality distribution of care, and in this case it seems we have left
you thinking otherwise
I want to clarify the purpose of the self-pay rateIt is OSR's policy to present the self-pay rate to patients that have a high deductible plan (HDHP), no insurance, or comprehensive insurance that does not cover outpatient physical therapy (HMO or Narrow Network Plans)We verify each patient's insurance plan to determine if they fall into one of these three categoriesThe cash rate will not be offered unless a patient has a $deductible or higher in regards to the HDHPThis is due to the fact that your episode of care will more often than not last 10-visits and the cost of the self-pay rate will either not benefit the patient in the long run, or the allowable amount between OSR and the insurance company will be lessAlso, when enrolled in the self-pay packages, these costs are completely out of pocketThis means that any costs incurred during treatment will not apply to your deductible, co-insurance, or out of pocket maximum of your insurance plan
Lastly, unfortunately with the contract that we hold with your insurance company, we are unable to adjust the amount that you owe, as this directly pertains to your deductibleIf this amount is not collected, we would be violating the terms of the contract that is in place between OSR and the PayorWe are willing to offer services that are not individually covered by insurance to make up for the cost difference which caused your dissatisfactionPlease contact me directly to hear a list of these services and set up an appointment
