I am a tenant in a property that suffered from a long standing basement seepage issue, before I even moved in
I moved in Aug.01, Aug there was a wicked hail storm which led to the first flood in the basementAbalon was contracted to repair the issueTheir solution was a sump pump in the basement I understand this was their initial soultion to the problem that was brought to the a few years ago I am no expert but I am not stupid, a sump will remove water that is in the basement but will not stop the seepage into the basementWhen I asked about this I got a look like it was none of my business The repair went ahead, I questioned the positioning of the pump as it was no where near , where the water was coming in? again, Don't ask stupid questions
Soooo after watering the lawn and garden in the front yard, the basement flooded againCould there be a serious problem with the foundation? oh wait, don't ask questions
The next band-aid was to put interior weeping tiles so it will move the incoming water to the sump pumpHmmmm shouldn't the water not even be coming into the basement??? Oh right, asking questions againAfter the last repair, the new drywall is ruined, literally holes in it and cement all over itDirt fills the inside of the window sill, where they were passing tools and what notThey used my gramma's night table as a rest for their tools....thanks for asking I would have said NoLeaving it covered in cement dust Then they broke my cathedral candle while coming and going out the front doorThanks for telling meNOT! Then my roomate came home to find the door wide open and the furnace blasting, nice, I like heating the outside
They have not tested the second repair and the landlady is afraid to but she is confident because the work is guaranteed for three yearsBut the water is still coming into the basement!!!! won't that be a mold issue in no time? Asking questions again
Abalon, while having a good reputation, in my opinion did shoddy work, didn't do a proper inspection to find the real issue and then left my personal possessions dirty and brokenTo me this is not a good business policy and speaks to a fundamental problem with this company
To top it all off, I had to call them to ask about the issues and then I get an apologyShouldn't they have called me?
They got caught making a mess and like any toddler who gets caught, that is when they are sorry, sorry they got caught
I would never recommend Abalon to anyone who needs foundation repair

The Abalon team did a great job at my house! They were quick, polite, easy to deal with and most importantly good value for the money. They really know what they're doing
