Review: I took my car to O.T. Cars for transmission issues. A mechanic named [redacted] did work on the transmission without diagnosing the issue. He replaced the Torque Converter on my transmission which I had paid a third party to rebuild. After the work was done, he told me that what he did was not the issue and the entire transmission would need to be replaced. I went and bought a new transmission and brought it to the shop. I was told by the owner I would be charged for the prior work on the old transmission and also for replacing the old with the new. Though the prior work did not fix the car, I reluctantly agreed. When I went to go pick up my vehicle August 1st, 2013 I was told by the owner, O.T., that I was not able to get my original transmission because the mechanic [redacted] took it to the junk yard without consent. He said [redacted] was on vacation and we can call him when he returns. I did not give any permission to take my transmission anywhere and the torque converter on the original transmission is rebuilt so there is no reason to throw away a functional torque. If my part was sold I want it returned or to be reimbursed.

Business' Initial Response

brought his car to OT CARS Repair and asked the cost of a torque converter

replacement...we quoted him $600. He said okay I'm going to get that replaced. The day came when [redacted] brought the car in for repair. I drove the vehicle and recommended a diagnostics at $108.00 [redacted] did not approve so we continued the torque converter replacement We dropped the transmission and removed the torque converter [redacted] came picked up the torque converter and had it rebuilt because the cost of a new one was too expensive. Then [redacted] brought the rebuilt torque converter to be installed. The rebuilt torque converter in

vehicle had the same issue, I felt bad for [redacted] spending so much money so I tried helping [redacted] out and we did the

diagnostics on his car for no additional cost. We found the transmission faulty and recommended either rebuild or

replacement of the unit. [redacted] found a Used transmission and brought it to our shop to have it installed. I told him

that I'd help him out as much as possible. The total cost was $1,200 the [redacted] which Costs over thirteen dollars a quart.

We agreed an replacing the transmission the next day. After replacing the transmission I tried calling [redacted] but he did not answer his phone for the first week. We finally got a hold of [redacted] the next week and he promised he would pick up his car the following week on Thursday, Thursday came and [redacted] didn't pick up the car.I tried calling him again and he did not answer so I left him a detailed message saying that if he didn't come pick op the car id have to start charging storage, On the fourth week I still have not heard anything from [redacted] so I called and said that we will have to lean the car not knowing If he was still interested in picking up the vehicle. [redacted] finally

called back and said that he should be there on Thursday to pick it up the car. I let [redacted] knew that there was a four days storage fee. after how many days it stayed at the shop.., at ($35.00 a day). Thursday afternoon [redacted] came to the Shop and we chatted in the office for same time. After we spoke he demanded we give him his old transmission I told him if was sitting on the shop floor for over 2 months and that I didn't know what happened with it. Later on I found out we sold it to a metal company that comes to buy metal from us.We sold the transmission for $25.00.

[redacted] did not want to pay for repairs on his vehicle he ended up paying me $855. and $145 check After not paying full amount of $1,340 and only paying the $145 dollar check that he stopped payment on. He starts yelling and his wife gets in it also. There was no way to calm them down and making them happy. A couple days later he called threatening us and so much more! We went out of our way trying ts make the customer happy for lots of negativity in return.

Excellent Service. OT, [redacted], and the team were all smiles despite a very busy shop. Very knowledgeable, patient, and respectful of my time.
Thanks Guys [redacted]

Review: I had OT Cars tow my 740il [redacted] car to their facility to do a engine swap and it's been two months now they have not repaired my car and have lost my car keys as well as got water in my car. They never gave me a written estimate for the repair that was to be done and has gotten water in my car electronic components which will cause more problems. now ot the owner does not want to fix my car and wants to charge me storage fees and raise the repair cost.Desired Settlement: I would like for the to fix my car and get it back to me asap.
