Review: I hired the Otte contractor through an [redacted] "Big Deal" offer to do a complete remodel of my home's master bathroom. But I noticed that all the materials they were installing were VERY CHEAP!!! For example, I had to provide a toilet myself because the one they had installed was so small it was like made for little people. I also had to provide a replacement for the curtain rod, because the one provided was so cheap, it kept falling down despite readjusting it over and over. And I ended having to provide the vanity combo, too. Three months later, while taking a shower, the bathtub's faucet/diverter leaked water to the newly renovated power room downstairs causing water damage on the ceiling and on the wall.

I immediately called [redacted], the contractor, but he did not returned my calls. Worried that the leaked water could cause more damage, I called one of the men he had sent to do the remodeling. That man came to my house as soon as he could. After inspecting the damage and the faucet, he determined that the bathtub's faucet parts caused the problem because they were defective. That is the result of using very cheap parts.

When I finally got in touch with **. [redacted], he refused to take responsibility for the damage the faucet he installed had done. He said kept saying "I did not manufactured that piece. I cannot guarantee what someone else manufactured. It's illegal. Those pieces always work. We have done nothing wrong." I reminded him that his business had purchased and installed that faucet, and that it was his responsibility to repair the water damage it had caused to my newly renovated powder room . But he would not take responsibility. When I said I would complain to both the Revdex.com and [redacted] (whom said I would hear from a mediator in two days, but have not heard from them), he said he would call [redacted] "to get a second opinion".

A good businessman stands behind his parts and labor on any project, but the Otte company will not do it.Desired Settlement: I want the Otte business to send someone to replace the bathtub faucet/diverter with a new and better quality one, and to repair the water damage caused to the downstairs powder room. Or, to agree to reimburse me the parts and labor for me to hire someone to do that work.

Review: Otte Construction was hired in May 2012 to lay tile in a kitchen floor. The floor was porcelain. There was a great amount of grout residue left on the tile. Instead of putting on something to clean up the grout residue, tile sealer was place on the tile. 1. Sealer is never to be used on porcelain tile. 2. The grout residue was now sealed onto the tile causing the tile to look dirty.After much complaining on my part, Otte tried to use acid to burn off the sealer. While it initially looked better, after two weeks, the tile looked dirty again and now it was also a magnet for dirt. Several more complaints were made to Otte and while they said they would make it right, they have never done anything to correct the problem and stopped answering my calls and emails. September 2013, the grout lines are disintegrating and many tiles are now loose and it is hollow under many tiles. The floor is literally falling apart.Again, I made phone calls and emailed. It was promised that the owner will get back to me but they, once again, have chosen to ignore my calls and emails.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $4902.01.
