I had purchased a Roku streaming player from Otter Creek Trading through Amazon.com. When I was setting up the player and pairing it with remote, I noticed that the remote has a dead designated hot key due to the Roku player not supporting Rdio any longer. I emailed the seller(Otter Creek Trading) about this situation. I was trying to see if they had an updated controller.I was told that there is nothing that can be done about this. They claim that all the Roku players have the old remote. I then asked for them to contact me through my cell number. No response. I found their phone number online and reached out to seller. They picked up phone, just to hang up and block my number. I now have a remote with 3 out of the 4 designated hot buttons.Product_Or_Service: Roku 3 Streaming Media PlayerOrder_Number: XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXXDesired SettlementI would like a partial refund due to this matter.Business Response Buyer was offered a refund if he returned the product. He did not opt to return the product. The "issue" the buyer mentions affects ALL consumers who purchased ANY Roku in late 2014 through present. Roku has shortcut buttons on their remote controls which connect directly to channels rather than using other navigational means. Roku has "Rdio" channel buttons on ALL of their product remotes as Rdio paid Roku to have this button there in hopes of boosting viewership. Roku is contractually bound to have these buttons on the remotes. This company (Rdio) has recently filed for bankruptcy and the button no longer works. There is no fix from the manufacturer and retailers certainly have no way to fix this other than offering a refund. The Roku device is fully functional with the exception of this non-essential button. The consumer is demanding some sort of fix when one is not possible beyond a refund. Filing a Revdex.com complaint with a retailer is not applicable when it should be addressed with the manufacturer. Again the consumer was presented with the option of returning the unit for a refund.Consumer Response [redacted]Otter Creek Trading does NOT know how to provide customer service. They do not stand by what they sell. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM THEM!!... THIS IS MY COMPLAINT. YES, THEY MIGHT HAVE OFFERED TO RETURN ITEM. BUT THEY FAIL TO TELL YOU IS THAT IF YOU RETURN TOO MANY TIMES, AMAZON WILL CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT. IT'S THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I WAS SPEAKING ABOUT, THEY NEED TO BE TRAINED ON HOW TO DEAL WITH THE PUBLIC. I CALLED UP ROKU AND THEY SENT ME A PROPER DEVICE THAT WORKS. I STILL WAST A COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST THEM. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY I AM MAKING COMPLAINT ANYWAY.
