I purchased a pair of glasses from this company and within one year the frames have borken. They want me to pay $120 to fix them almost what I paid.
I purchased a pair of glasses for this company was very happy with them. I have purchased glasses from his company before. Within a year they broke at the end of the frame where the front attaches to the arm. My husband brought them back in for me to see what could be done for them and they asked us to pay $120.00 to replace the frames that this was not due to a manufactures defect. I was not happy with this and went else where to buy replacements. When I was there I showed them these frames and they said that glasses don't normally break in this spot and that they would consider it a manufactures defect. I don't see how this company can expect me to pay $120.00 to replace these frames when I paid around $200.00 for them 4-6 months ago. I would not call this best business practice. So now while I wait for the new glasses I purchased I was forced to glue these ones together so that I would be able to see to work.
Thank you
I would like like the frames to be replaced glasses should not break within a year unless they are substandard product. As it stands with the way this was treated I would not shop there nor suggest it as place for my family or friends to shop.
We are sorry the customer was not happy with our resolution. If a frame is broken and it is not due to a manufacturing defect, there is no warranty and the manufacturer will not replace it. The customer was told $120 for the replacement frame as that is how much it cost him originally. His purchase of December 2017 was for a total of $180 not $200, and that was for the combination of frame and RX lenses.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I could understand that assessment if I was provided with a documentation stating it would not be covered or explaining under what terms they determine their warranty. These glasses broke in a very strange part in all the years I have wore glasses I have never seen glasses break in this spot. There is also a hollowed out section where they broke so how you could sit there and say they are not covered is beyond me. The manufacture put the hollowed out section there not me. Why in the world does it matter if I paid $200.00, $180.00 or $50.00 dollars. The fact is I paid for the glasses with the expectation of wearing them and now your expecting me to pay $60.00 less that what I just paid for. Without the frames the lenses are useless. When all is said and done the glasses would have cost me $300.00 dollars if I went with your plan of replacing the frames for $120.00. Not to mention it looks to me that you are charging me the mark up you put on the frames. If you had expected me to remain a faithful customer and recommend you to my family and friends I would have at least expected you to charge me the at cost price of the frames. I worked in retail for years I understand how you mark up items to make your profit why should you profit off of me twice for substandard product.
Perhaps the consumer can bring the said frame in to the store for the manager to have a look at it and see what can be done to rectify the situation. As it stands, manufacturer warranties are not our discretion, and if it is not a defect, the manufacturer will not accommodate with a replacement. Wnen breakage happens by accident, we have helped customers replace the frame at minimal cost to them. Without seeing the broken frame, we are at a loss of which direction we can go to help resolve this matter.
