I paid this company to winterize pipes in my home, the winterization was not done correctly and damage resulted.I paid Our Plumber to winterize the pipes of a vacant home to prevent them from freezing while it was on the market. The plumber winterized them, and told me not to worry about them. Upon turning on the utilities for a home inspection, my realtor discovered 4 burst pipes in interior walls of my home. My wife contacted the company as I am deployed to Afghanistan, only seeking a refund for the fees paid to winterize the pipes and the company refused to take any responsibility for the damage, and to even consider a refund saying that their work was not guaranteed. My money was paid for an inferior and subpar service. Desired SettlementI would like a refund of 151.00, this is the fee that I paid for the winterization of the home. Business Response I am very sorry that you had this experience with our company. We are a family owned company that live here in [redacted] Tn. This is not the kind of experience I want any customer of ours to have. We repaired several broken lines at your home last winter. These pipes were installed when or after the home was built in an improper manner that would not meet code in[redacted] Tn. today. We did not install the water lines in your attic. Your home may freeze and break many times over the next couple of years for your new home owners if some changes to the design and or materials are not made. When[redacted] took the phone call she asked when the water was turned on and by who. Your wife responded with she was not sure when the water was turned on or by who. She said all of the utilities were turned off in January.[redacted] asked if the heat was on. She also asked if a realtor may have turned the water on to show the house and she did not know. We have no idea how long the water was on with out heat before the pipes broke again. This was after another terrible cold spell we had here in[redacted] Tn. If you would of called us we would have come out and tried to sort out the repair needed. We had no opportunity to try and make things right with you other than you wanting your money back. I am willing to give you your $151.00 back because we are in a customer service business. This is not necessarily fair to my family, but I care about all of my customers and that would be the right thing to do. You have to believe me when we say we do not want this to happen to anyone and we are going to change our policy on winterizing for the customers protection as well as ours.
