On 02/19/20, I booked a 1 bedroom move with this company for 04/03/20(0.3 mile move). I confirmed before purchasing a 2 hr move if this would be sufficient time and was advised it will be due to a very close and limited move. The day of the move, it took the crew 4 hours (time stopped at 3.75 due to my complaint to the mover how long it was taking). The 2 movers showed up with no tools to unhook washer and spent much time trying to unhook it with their fingers. Finally, a tool was found upon us leaving the location so they went back to get it which took so much more time. The mover broke/disposed of my tv stand without showing me, left the scene with my step ladder, broke a part to my new elliptical, and chipped my wood dining room table on top. I immediately called the company as they were leaving to express my frustration. I continue to deal with the company to date as they questioned why I tipped $25 if this was a "bad" move. I advised it was nominal as I felt compelled to give something for them showing up during a pandemic. The tip would have been larger if I was satisfied. John at the company stated there were no signs of a ladder in the truck as he checked the NEXT DAY after my move (makes no sense) upon my follow up call. He also stated there was no mention from movers of a damaged tv stand. I advised him his mover told me he called his manager as soon as it occurred. I am upset the company does not believe me. They also said 4 hrs to move a home sounds normal. I explained this was not a home, it was a 1 bedroom apt (661 sq ft) with minimal items (not even living room furniture as I had new furniture delivered the next day) . I continue to try to settle my dispute cordially with the company however they ignore my calls and only respond via email stating they have no proof of my damaged items, missing item, and said I owe for 3.75 hours although the crew came unprepared and took advantage of me while they were on the clock! This was a simple first level move.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) A full refund due to the company not willing to work with me cordially to resolve this dispute. The company also treated me very poorly as if I was lying about the damaged and missing item and time it should have taken to complete a simple move. The company stated the time to move a "home" my size will take about 4 hours. I explained this was only a 1 bedroom ground level move without even living room furniture involved.

Much of what the customer has claimed here is nonfactual. Her move did take 3.75 hours to complete which is the appropriate amount of time for the conditions of the move. Our teams work at a steady pace to maximize efficiency while ensuring the safety of themselves and the customers belongings. Pandemic specific CDC guidelines being in place during her move did add to overall time taken. This was to be expected, and discussed with the customer prior, to keep the public as safe as possible. Move time is 100% dependent on the customers locations, level of preparation, amount being moved, and other factors out of the companies control.

At the end of the move, the customer signed the bill of lading to confirm she had received all of her items and that the truck was empty. Yet is claiming now we did not deliver all items. One would think her legally binding confirmation would serve well to prove we are not. While at this time we have no knowledge of items being broken during the move, the customer has the right to file a claim with us. She has been given that opportunity to do so yet has not. As such, it's impossible for us to investigate and, if appropriate, pay a claim. Should she choose to do so she can follow the simple process and we will work to close it out as soon as possible.
