customer ultimately received 100% of the services they paid for plus additional discounts/offerings from Volkswagen of America and Volkswagen of Bethesda.Of course we prefer everything be fixed perfectly first time, every time but the world is not a perfect place. We regret any inconvenience the customer experienced, have communicated our sincere apologies, provided monetary compensation and repaired the vehicle.Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:  
Minor mistakes can be expected in any service delivery, however, Volkswagon guarantees 'master craftsmanship'.  Riding in a car with an unsealed gas tank is not a 'minor mistake'. It created a life-threatening situation for me and everyone who was near the car once it left the dealership. If the car had blown up, would our insurance company have know that the gas tank was unsealed. Truly, Volkswagon of Bethesda didn't know of the faulty work of their technician.
Correcting the repair was warranted because the car was inoperable in this condition,  and, the repair had been paid for in cash. Monetary compensatoin for what could have happened, i.e., the car blowing up,
subsequent health problems from the fumes and anxiety induced by the situation, wasn't requested. A refund of what was paid was requested and also recommended by the representative at Volkswagon of America.
With regard to the coupons sent for a discount in service, who wants to use a coupon and spend more money with a business that has already taken my money and provided poor service. Also, the apologies for the inconvenience weren't warm and fuzzy or given in a timely manner. Responses were inadequate, except for the correspondence with the representative at Volkswagon of America. Contact to Volkswagon of America
