Outdoor Environments

Review: In the summer of 2012, we hired Outdoor Environments to landscape the front of our house including installing a long retaining wall, paver sidewalk, trees, bushes, and perennials. I specifically asked the owner about proper watering of the newly planted trees, bushes, and perennials as the temperature outside was unusually hot. His response was something akin to, because of the slope of your yard, the heat, and the fact these are newly planted, you cant water them too much. I tried to water all of the newly planted vegetation every day for some period following their planting. Before the end of the summer, one of the trees appeared to be dead or was at least dying. I called the owner and told him about the tree and he said he would stop by and take a look at its condition. He did so a few days later and said that I was watering everything too much and to stop watering every day. He also said the tree was not dead, that it would come back in the spring. It should be noted that every other tree, bush and perennial is thriving, all watered the same amount.After several attempts to reach the owner in early March, I did finally reach the new owner (previous employee) and explained my problem. He remembered me and said he would contact the previous owner as it was a warranty issue. His initial response was that the tree died because I over-watered it and as such, he would not replace the tree. After two more back and forth phone conversations, the new owner said he would talk to the previous owner again about replacing the tree. I called on April 11 at 1830 and left a message inquiring about his decision. I called him on April 19 at 1330. He said we were good customers and he would replace the tree but because of his schedule, he would be able to do so for a few weeks. On May 15 I called him to find out his schedule to replace the tree. Although I left a message and asked for some response, I received none. Finally, on May 27 at 1700, I called hime and left another message stating that if he didnt call me back I was going to submit a complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: Replace the dead white dogwood with another white dogwood of similar size.
