Outdoors Unlimited, Inc Reviews (1)

Review: My first request to [redacted], Outdoors Unlimited, was to take all vegetation surrounding the house out, [redacted] did not. Second, I did not want any vegetation, so I stated to fill with soil and mulch around the area where the vegetation was taken out, [redacted] neglected to lay a cloth so that the little vegetation he did pull did not grow back. This was conveyed to him the importance of no vegetation around the house. All vegetation prior and additional vegetation has grown. My landscape is worse than prior to Outdoors unlimited working on my property. when his employees came to the house they stated that they did not know what needed to be done. I explained what I have requested. I recently had a company install a new cement walk way and had a tree removed. I requested new sod where vegetation was taken out, a section of the front lawn, and around the walk way where the walk way was formed. Sod was placed in areas mentioned except an area where [redacted] stated it would be best to place seeds instead. Nothing grew except large weeds. The weeds have been determined to be from soil brought from a farm. I hired and paid half of the contract May 1st. [redacted] state that he would be able to start approximately two weeks out, give or take a day or two. I called twice to the office requesting an update of a project start date. after approximately 50 days they began the work. From May 1st until the end of June was a 25-30 degree increase in temperature. I cancelled my vacation with a monetary loss in order to water the grass three times a day. When [redacted] came to collect the remaining portion of the money, I expressed my unsatisfactory of the work performed. [redacted] assured me that he would resolve the issue of correcting all of the unforeseen weeds that have generated. Neighbors have stated that they saw someone spraying chemicals near my side door which have killed the grass near where the weeds were. I have called [redacted]'s cell phone number and the office of outdoors unlimited for an update on the my issue. No one has returned my called. I gave the company the benefit of the doubt when I told the receptionist that [redacted] may have mixed the seed up with another seed and weeds are growing wild. Her comment was belittling, and stated that they never make a mistake. I took the comment she made, and came to the conclusion that they must have done this deliberately. It has been over a week since I last contacted them.Desired Settlement: Remove all vegetation brought in from the soil planted in the ground, install sod originally discussed by [redacted] and I. Remove dirt and mulch and place a film so no other weeds or vegetation grows. Fix spots where damaged by employees. Complete this within days not months.

Response:

According to Mr. [redacted]'s complaint he is

indicating his first request was to remove all vegetation surrounding the

house.Attached is a signed copy by Mr. [redacted] of the

agreement for the work to be done at his home (the above address) No where does

it state anything about removing vegetation. The work that was done was according to the

agreement, other than seed in a small area where sod was requested. It was

approved by Mr. [redacted]We verbally advised Mr. [redacted] that this is the start of

our busy season and the work would be completed within 4-6

weeks weather permitting. His contract was signed 5/1/15. We were on the job

within 6 and 1/2 weeks. It did rain during the contract period which

did not allow us to start earlier.Weeds will grow if the lawn is not maintained. With

new seed, as the grass is growing weeds will occur. No one from Outdoors Unlimited, Inc. stopped at his

house to do ANY spraying of weeds, whoever the neighbor saw, it was not our

company.

Response:

[redacted] Main office-Milwaukee Revdex.com [redacted] Outdoors Unlimited Landscaping Inc. [redacted] Ref: Outdoors Unlimited Landscaping. Letter dated: October 14, 2015 Revdex.com. Letter dated: October 15, 2015 [redacted], Work is NOT completed per contract. No customer which decides to hire a contractor would ever be satisfied with farm vegetation in include farm corm growing from which grass was to grow. I am not negating what soil Outdoors unlimited has purchased in the past. I am negating that the soil used on my yard at my home was not quality soil. It is evidence of the numerous amount of pictures sent to our email. Outdoors Unlimited has maintained on stating what is not on the contract. What is not on the contract is that Outdoors Unlimited states that we agreed on the work to be completed within four to six weeks. My check stated work to be done within two weeks. The contract does not state that seeds were to be planted. The contract does not state that Outdoors Unlimited will grow indigenous vegetation, not common to Milwaukee. In the contract it does not state that Outdoors Unlimited will grow multiple farm corn. In the contract it does not state that Outdoors Unlimited will not plant grass seed, instead Outdoors Unlimited will plant weeds; so that an owner will to work outside on his landscape for Five hours a day to maintain the weeds from growing wildly throughout mine yard and eventually in my neighbors yards. I am not asking for reimbursement of loss money for canceling our family vacation. Work not completed within the 2-week timeframe, per our verbal agreement and per my written statement on my check. I am not asking for the additional amount of money I paid to the water district. A 20 to 30 degree difference from work was to be completed and from when work began. All of my weekends spent watering the dirt hoping for grass to appear and pulling out weeds and vegetation rather than spending quality time with my family. My family time has been taken away from me this year. My neighbors have expressed their concern with the quality of work that has populated. My neighbors have stated that they are concern about the spread of the indigenous vegetation growing in my yard, spreading onto their yard. All neighbors have lived in the neighborhood for years and have never seen ingenious vegetation and farm plants at my address. They have written a declaration of statement on my behalf. My neighbors are fire chiefs, detectives, retired police officers, nurses, librarians, and various white-collar workers. I am not satisfied with the work from Outdoors Unlimited. I will ask one last time for the Revdex.com to announce Outdoors Unlimited to complete the work. I am requesting for sod to be placed per the contract; for quality topsoil to be placed per professional landscapers; for all farm soil to be removed, to include the indigenous vegetation, corn crops, and all plants grown prior to Outdoors Unlimited working on my home, and to maintain the spread of this foreign vegetation that has spread. Thank you for your time and assistance. [redacted]

Response:

Outdoors Unlimited completed the work as written in the contract as described. Outdoors unlimited would be willing at our cost to send the soil out to be tested and provided customer with results. Not unusual for screened top soil to have seed heads that have not germinated. All of the customers complaints seem to be unreasonable based on trade standard.
