Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. The photos that I previously submitted show that there was an active leak in that corner at one time.  That type of damage does not occur in a few short months. As I stated previously, this issue was brought to the contractors attention at the time they were doing the job. To say that there was no active leak is ridiculous when you look at the photos. They knew about the issue and we trusted that they were fixing it when the job was being done. Since we just started having a leaking issue in August, I would have had no reason to responded earlier. Why did it take 2 years for this issue to resurface, I have no clue. However, I do know that when you have water leaking into a room of your home it is an URGENT matter and it shouldn't be taken lightly.I feel that Frank-dale should be held responsible for part of this fix as I content they knew we were having an issue in that corner.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This has been a futile attempt to have this contractor rectify an issue with work that was completed by Frank-Dale, regardless of who owned the company at the time of the work.  I would have hoped that the owner of that company could have attempted to correct this issue in the first place.  I'll be taking this up another level. All I had wanted was Frank-Dale to treat my situation as any other customer's and not have based it on work done by the previous owner; to have come to my house with at least a week of me calling, and not after 3 weeks and just because I had contacted the Bureau.I called another contractor on Thursday who was good enough to come out to my house on Saturday morning (now that is good customer service!).  He instantly found the issue, when the chimney had been rebuilt the tiles surrounding the bottom of the chimney had been damaged and they had attempted to caulk them. That temporary fix is no longer good obviously!  It's hard for me to believe then that the Frank-Dale contractor who came out couldn't spot this! This contractor suggested that I contact NARI, as Frank-Dale is a member, and file a complaint with them which I will be doing.

The problem isn't in the roof, Duane went out to inspect the problem then returned to the office to put the proposal together and put it in the mail, apparently it wasn't received that's not a problem we can resend or email. There was no evidence of an active leak when the estimate was done....

Frank-Dale did the roof and the roof isn't whats leaking, if need be we will set up a meeting to go over the details of what the issues are and what needs to be done to resolve the problem.Thank you,Andrew [redacted], Frank-Dale Exteriors Inc

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The information provided on the weather was also given to me and I totally understood the situation.  However, that was a conversation we had on April 4.  I believe I was patient in waiting for a response to see when someone could come and look at the chimney, however after my last communication with the business owner on April 18 was not answered this is the route I felt I needed to take to some type of action.  In that communication, I asked him why he was not able to schedule me in as he was doing with his other clients and there was no response.  A simple response would have been enough for me to know that he was trying to schedule me in.  From my perspective, it felt he had no intention of coming to my house.  All I wanted was a date to come and see it and determine next steps.  I understand that there may be worse situations than mine the owner is dealing with, however, the fact that the ceiling in the only bathroom in my house looks like it will soon cave in, is an emergency for me.  How can I fix it until the leak from the chimney is fixed?  I purchased a service from Frank-Dale to rebuild my chimney, and spend a lot of money doing it, I have a 10-year service warranty on that work.  My request is to have the leak fixed under that warranty service.  Thank you, [redacted]

Unfortunately we run in to these issues every once in a while where customers think every leak has to be associated with the roof, this is not the case! As I stated before the previous business [redacted] told us that there was no sign of an active leak! The customer stated it hasn't been leaking till now, two years later, that's because it is a totally different set of issues. Mr and Mrs [redacted] have been mailed an estimate to correct the current issue and it has nothing to do with touching the roof so that it doesn't void the previous warranty.I asked why in one of the last communications why does it take two years to respond and say now we have a leak and it's urgent, the leak is associated with the things that many sun room installers DON'T DO CORRECTLY!Years ago Duane who is a certified roof installer went to work for a well known local sun room company and told them what they were doing at the time of their install was incorrect and that it would cause issues down the road, suprisingly  they said they had a number of leaks and didn't know why. The reason is they know how to install sun rooms, not all installers understand the intricatsies of the roof systems, if they are not all done in the correct order with the proper components it will fail. That's why it's name is not Sun rooms & RoofingWe're here to help if wanted, they have the corrective estimate, this is not a warranty issue nor a roof issue. If someone from the Revdex.com wants to contact me I will send a copy of the same corrective estimate that the [redacted]'s have, I'm not sure how to get it to load on this siteThank you

Perhaps Ms. [redacted] would like to attempt to contact the previous owner, I'm sure I could track down a phone number. It's quite obvious that my response either wasn't read or it wasn't understood. As I stated yesterday no one even knew that I sent my mason to her home to look at the chimney, when we have a window of time and were busy we can't wait for someone to drive across town from Menomonee Falls. The bottom line we can't diagnose a leak from the inside of the building since water seeks it's own level and path way. In other words no need to see a water spot, not trying to be rude but it doesn't matter.I spoke to my mason this morning and he informed me that the chimney looked great and in his opinion it could be a roof issue or a crack farther down the inside of a flue tile which would not have been worked on with out tearing out walls. Good Day!

It's unfortunate that we have to be in this position and I won't address some of the exaggeration. The bottom line is this, March 6th, 7th and the 8th with the 8th being the worst gusting over 60mph caused a lot of damage and created over 80 calls wind related, not to mention the regular calls that...

we receive. Lets add the weather into the equation, Snow came after the winds and took over a week to clear in some areas, then the rain came about every other day. As a reputable business you need to have an experienced repair man which we do, and when we get slammed with weather we have to work our way through it. Patience truly helps, people need to understand every year it becomes more difficult to find good employees. I refuse to hire the guy that was a lawn mower one week and flipped burgers one summer and then stick him on someones roof to do repairs.I tried to explain to Ms [redacted] that I bought the business in 2014 as a asset only purchase and I'm not legally bound to the warranties by the other parties, however I also stated I would try to get there as time and weather permits to see if we could help out. Apparently I didn't return her text message on her expected time frame two days ago and she has now gone this route. Little does she know at our morning production meeting this morning my mason was given her address to look at the chimney. I'm not the bad guy here I've spent over 50 grand fixing the previous owners garbage work, and to rarely get a thank you! The next time will have an invoice attached! When it comes to our homes everyone wants it NOW, Folks need to understand after storms it takes Patience!

This is a very unfortunate situation situation with the timing of the job and the customers issues. We contacted our customer promptly and scheduled an appointment for August 3rd 2016, so we can go over any issues our customer may have and resolve them.Sincerely,[redacted]Owner, Frank-Dale...
