Dear ***, Thank you for forwarding the complaint submitted by Ms***We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted you. Outskirts Press is happy to provide the following detailed response to Ms***’s concerns to
the Revdex.com. Our excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to us Ms*** purchased our Full-Color Publishing Package on 8/26/for $1699, and she elected to submit Print Ready Files for both her interior and coverThere is no additional cost for authors who select this option but they are given a detailed “Print Ready File Submission Guide” explaining the technical requirements for their filesUnfortunately, Ms*** had difficulty meeting those specifications Although authors are not under any obligation to purchase additional options for their title, Ms*** did select and pay for the following options: Digital Download Edition ($99), Private Label option ($99), Paperback & Hardback formats ($349), Electronic Publishing Elite Package ($699) and Cover Scribing ($149) Ms*** approved her title for production on 9/20/When an author approves production they are giving us permission to begin work on their title, and at that point they agree that all fees they have already paid become non-refundableThis is clearly stated in the publishing agreement that Ms*** accepted when she purchased her package. Here is that portion of the publishing agreement: "Author may terminate this Agreement at any time with days prior written notice to Outskirts Press. Upon termination by Author before Author approves production on Title, all submitted fees are refundable minus a $administrative fee and any other applicable fees for which work has already commencedUpon termination by Author after Author approves production on Title, all submitted fees become non-refundable." Despite the fact that Ms*** had already approved for production to begin, when she requested a refund we did agree to issue her a partial refund as a courtesy. On 12/22/2016, prior to receiving this correspondence from the Revdex.com, we refunded Ms*** for the Digital Download Edition, Private Label option, Paperback & Hardback formats, Electronic Publishing Elite Package, and 50% of her Full-Color Publishing Package ($849.50). We were not able to refund her for the Cover Scribing option as the work had already begun on this option and the finished product was delivered to Ms***. Her total was $2095.50. We are very sorry that Ms*** was not able to complete her publication with usWe believe that we have already satisfied her desired resolution. In light of our detailed response, we request Ms***'s complaint be removed from our record at this time Thank you for your help in this matter Sincerely, *** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
*** ***Yes, Outskirts Press did give me a total refund of down payment and consultation fee, The story about the consultant effort to contact me is total inaccurate, because if it wasn't I would have not contact the Revdex.com, I told them through e- mail if they didn't contact me I would involve a third party, and what really spark this situation after submitting my manuscript I did speak with *** asking did he receive my manuscript he said 'No', I sent the manuscript again but I wasn't able to contact him and he didn't contact me- he has my phone number, because no one acknowledge they receive my manuscript, so I mailed a USB flasher with manuscript on it through US postal directly to *** director of productions and still she or no one else ever acknowledge that they received my manuscript, so that raise some concern, why? also as I stated in my complaint between March to March not one book has been reported on my sales charge, the sales stop one book short before Outskirts press had to pay me, because of this and people told me they purchase my book, I had to find out for my self that's why I purchased my own book at regular price, usually the author's sales chart will show the sale but the pay is quarterly

Revdex.com:
Not exactly the truth about me delaying or fabricating their delayI release the complaint only because I don't want to be bothered with any longer.
Sincerely,
*** ***

*** *** -*** had received her 2nd interior proof by 5/21/2015, but did not approve it for print until 6/24/This is about 2-weeks longer than normal, and our notes indicate that the *** *** who was working with *** *** -*** had attempted to move the project along by reaching out to her on 6/2/to see how she was coming along with the proofing process

RE: Revdex.com Complaint Case# *** OP Ref* Dear ***, Thank you for forwarding the complaint submitted by Ms***. We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted you. Outskirts Press is happy to provide the
following detailed response to Ms***’s concerns to the Revdex.com. Our excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to usMs*** officially became a client on 5/9/when she completed the purchase of her Diamond (now called Ultimate) Publishing PackagePrior to completing her purchase Ms*** electronically agreed to the terms of our Publishing AgreementSection II, #clearly outlines our practice of withholding and reporting 30% of a foreign author’s per book royaltyIIROYALTIES & PRICING 12. Royalties are paid to Author within days following the end of the calendar quarter in which Wholesale Book Sales (as defined above) occurred, once the total accrued Royalty meets or exceeds $for an author residing in the United States, or $for an author residing outside of the United StatesRoyalties are paid by check mailed to the Author’s address as supplied by the author in the Author’s CenterChecks not cashed by the Author within days of issue will be cancelled by the bank and subject to a $administrative fee if the Author requests a replacement checkThe author is responsible for maintaining a current address in the Author's Center. Any royalty check which is returned as undeliverable due to an outdated address in the Author's Center will be re-issued to the author within days of the author’s request (administrative fees, defined herein, apply). Any royalties unclaimed after two years revert to Outskirts Press. An author who is a US citizen subject to US income tax must provide a valid taxpayer identification number and a complete and signed form W-upon request, which Outskirts Press will, in turn, provide to the United States Internal Revenue Service. Any irregularity or inaccuracies the U.SInternal Revenue Service identifies in regard to the provided taxpayer identification number or the information provided on form W-will result in the non-payment of accrued royalties; so it is the author's sole responsibility to provide correct and accurate tax identification informationFor foreign authors, Outskirts Press will withhold US income tax from the royalty payments made to foreign authors at the default percent applicable to foreign persons, which is currently set at 30%, unless there is a tax treaty which provides for a different withholding percent and the author both satisfies all the requirements of that tax treaty and purchases the Custom Foreign Tax Option annually, in which case the tax treaty withholding rate will be appliedWe believe that Ms*** is confused over how the 30% tax is calculated which has caused her to feel unjustly treatedOnce an author approves their title for printing their designated representative asks that the author confirm their selected pricingBelow is an email that we received from Ms*** confirming her selected pricing as well as acknowledging the 30% tax that we would report on her behalf as a nNationalDear Lisa, I am writing to confirm the priceI had discussed the price with the other LisaAnd I indicated that it is a legal text dealing with technical issues involving the Law of the seaI had also done research on the pricing on an international environmental law text from authors in the Caribbean and the price which I had is close to the price range for Caribbean Environmental Law texts from authors like Professor AndersonThe price ranged between 150-USDIf you have a better idea of a price please let me know especially considering I also have to pay 30% tax on my profit as a non US national which I was not informed of upfrontThank you*** *** Section II, # - #from our Publishing Agreement outlines how royalties are calculated IIROYALTIES & PRICING 5. AUTHOR RECEIVES 100% OF THE ROYALTIES PROFIT for each wholesale print copy sold for which Outskirts Press receives paymentRoyalties profit is defined as the difference between the Base Price and the Wholesaler’s Price6. AUTHOR SETS THEIR OWN RETAIL PRICE to any price ending in cents, provided the Retail Price exceeds the Wholesaler’s Price7. AUTHOR SETS THEIR OWN ROYALTY by adjusting their Retail PriceSince the author receives 100% of the Royalties Profit, the Author’s Royalty increases as the Retail Price increasesLikewise, the Author’s Royalty decreases as the Retail Price decreases8. AUTHOR SETS THEIR OWN AUTHOR DISCOUNT by adjusting their Retail Price, since the Author Discount is the difference between the Retail Price and Base PriceAuthor may purchase additional discounted copies of the Title from the Author’s Center, in the minimum quantity established by Outskirts Press as set out on the Outskirts Press website, for the Base Price specified by Outskirts Press for each format of Title, plus applicable shipping and handling charges. The Author’s Discounted Price is always BELOW WHOLESALEThe per-copy Base Price will remain unchanged for a minimum of three years after which the Base Price may be moderately changed every three years to reflect changes in the consumer price index. Author understands that a change in the Base Price, without adjusting the Retail Price, will affect the Author’s Royalty and Author’s Discount9. AUTHOR SETS THEIR OWN PRICE PLAN representing the distribution incentive/trade discount for each formatThe Distribution Discount (aka Trade Discount) is the percentage difference between the Retail Price (Cover Price) of the Title and the Wholesaler’s Price. The Distribution Discount selected by the author must be at least 20% in order to secure Digital Distribution for each print formatThe Distribution Discount cannot exceed 55%Digital Distribution is offered by Ingram through distribution “feeds” Ingram has acquired and as such, Ingram, not Outskirts Press, is solely responsible for offering wholesale availability of TitleAuthor understands that wholesalers, distributors, and retailers are under no obligation to stock, order, carry, or list every book that is publishedThe degree to which Digital Distribution is effective depends, in part, on the Price Plan set by the author10. Outskirts Press sets the Base PriceThe Base Price depends upon the Publishing Package selected, the format of Title, and the total number of interior pages in the final digital file to be printed. Since the final total number of pages of the digital file cannot be known until the final digital file is printed, any Base Prices or Page Counts displayed on the website or communicated via email by the Author or Author Representative are estimates until the book is printed Below is Ms***’s individual calculation: $177.95: Retail price that Ms*** selected : Less her selected 25% Trade Discount (Trade Discount is the profit margin that retailers and wholesalers split as the profit margin for distributing and selling her book) $133.46: : Less the base (Ms***) cost for her book $128.70: Per book royalty : 30% of the per book royalty $90.09: Royalty due to Ms*** Ms***’s emailed Terri A*** late on Friday 11/24/with a change of addressRoyalty checks were mailed on Saturday 11/25/Her requested change of address did not make it in timeHer check was not delivered by the US Postal ServiceWe have absolutely no control over the mail but we will be issuing a replacement check in the amount of $at the end of FebruaryWe encourage Ms*** to provide us with a US mailing address for her replacement royalty checkOutskirts Press offers a $Custom Tax Withholding Option which Ms*** elected not to purchase thereby making the 30% tax reporting and withholding the proper amountThe details of this option and what it provides is belowAgreement for Custom Tax Withholding (Foreign Authors only) 1. The author is responsible for determining whether his country has a tax treaty with the United States. Information about tax treaties is available at the Internal Revenue web site www.irs.gov or from your personal tax advisor. Outskirts Press cannot provide legal or tax advice2. The author is responsible for assessing whether he satisfies the requirements of said tax treaty. In addition to other requirements, tax treaties require that the author have a United States taxpayer identification number, that the author provide a completed and signed Internal Revenue Service tax form W-8BEN, and that the author not reside in the United States3. The purchase of the Custom Tax Withholding option is the author's verification that the author has determined that he is eligible to claim the reduced income tax withholding rate set out in the tax treaty between the country of his legal residence and the United States. The Custom Tax Withholding option fee is non-refundable and pays for the investigation by Outskirts Press into whether the author meets the requirements for a tax withholding rate of less than the 30% default rate. The purchase of the Custom Tax Withholding option does not guarantee a lower tax withholding rate as a lower withholding rate may be denied where the author fails to satisfy the requirements of the applicable tax treaty. 4. The author agrees, upon request, to provide to Outskirts Press a completed and signed US tax form W-8BEN to claim the reduced rate of tax withholding pursuant to the tax treaty between the country of his legal residence and the United States. The Instructions for form W-8BEN are at www.irs.gov or from your personal tax advisor. Outskirts Press does not provide advice regarding the completion of this form. 5. The author must provide a United States Taxpayer Identification Number on line of form W-8BEN in order to be eligible to claim a reduced rate of tax withholding. If the author does not have a US taxpayer identification number, the author must acquire one. Information about obtaining a United States taxpayer identification number is available at the Internal Revenue web site www.irs.gov or from your personal tax advisor. Outskirts Press does not provide advice on how to obtain the US Taxpayer Identification Number. The author is responsible for notifying Outskirts Press within days of any change in circumstance which makes the information on form W-8BEN incorrect, such as a change in residency to the United States or a change in citizenship. In the event of such a change in circumstance, the author must provide a corrected form W8-BEN7. Each Custom Tax Withholding option fee provides a custom tax withholding investigation during the calendar year the option was purchased. This option must be purchased each year the author claims a reduced rate of tax withholding. 8. The purchase of the Custom Tax Withholding option results in an investigation by Outskirts Press into whether the author meets the requirements of the tax treaty between the country of the author's legal residence and the United States. Outskirts Press only conducts this investigation in connection with royalty payments made in the same calendar year the option was purchased and only for royalty payments made at least days after the date of purchase of option. Outskirts Press will rely on IRS Publication in making this determinationOutskirts Press will apply the 30% default tax withholding rate unless all requirements of the tax treaty between the country of the author's legal residence and the United States are satisfied, including the receipt of form W-8BEN with the author's US taxpayer identification number on line and residency outside the United States. Outskirts Press will advise the author of the tax withholding rate Outskirts Press will apply. The decision of Outskirts Press is finalIn conclusion Ms*** is not due her requested refundIn light of our detailed response, we request her complaint be removed from our record at this timeThank you for your help in this matterSincerely, Jeanine S*** CEO

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/30) */
Dear ***,
Thank you for forwarding the complaint submitted by Mr***We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted youOutskirts Press is happy to provide the
following detailed response to Mr***'s concerns to the Revdex.comOur excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to us
Mr*** requested termination of both of his published titles, and both were officially terminated on 1/31/All of our titles are distributed by *** I am attaching two images with screenshots of the listings for Mr***'s two books in *** systemThese screenshots confirm that neither are available from *** which means that no new copies of his books are being printed
We understand Mr***'s concern about the books still being listed for sale on online retail sites and causing confusion for customers; however, this issue is outside of the control of Outskirts PressOur publishing agreement, which Mr*** accepted when he purchased his publishing package, clearly states: "Upon termination, all rights granted within this agreement revert back to the author and within days Outskirts Press will cease all print availability of Title and will cancel/remove the digital files of Title from LSI/Ingram, thus preventing any further printing of TitleHowever, Outskirts Press is not responsible for the failure of any third-party distribution, retail, or marketing sources to remove Title from listing, display, or sale."
As a result of our terminating his books with *** (cancelling/removing the digital files), new copies are no longer being printed and sold by any retailers, including *** and *** & *** What Mr*** is seeing on those websites are listings by 3rd party vendorsThis happens for two reasons:
1) Some vendors are listings used copies for saleIt is important for Mr*** to understand that anyone who purchased copies of his books in the past do have the right to resell those copies
2) Some vendors are listing "new" copies for saleIt is possible that these vendors have copies in stock that were printed before Mr*** terminated his titles; however, it is more likely that these vendors were simply listing the "availability" of these books for sale and they have not updated their data in order to see that these books are no longer available for them to orderIf a customer does attempt to order copies from these vendors and they are truly new copies which would need to be printed, the vendor will be unable to fulfill the order and they will refund the customer for their orderMr*** could attempt to contact these vendors directly and request that they remove the listings for his books
We have tried to explain these factors to Mr*** numerous timesWe understand his frustration; however, our contract is very clear that this may happen and that it is out of our controlIn light of our detailed response, we request that Mr ***'s complaint be removed from our record at this time
Thank you for your help in this matter

Thank you for forwarding the complaint submitted by [redacted].  We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted you.  Outskirts Press is happy to provide the following detailed response to [redacted]’s concerns to...

the Revdex.com.  Our excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to us.  Attached is our response to [redacted]'s complaints as well as the action we have taken to resolve his concerns.   Please let us know if you require any additional information. Thank you,[redacted]
[redacted]

Dear [redacted],
Thank you for forwarding us the additional correspondence from Ms. [redacted]. We hope that our response will fully address Ms. [redacted]' additional concerns.
Ms. [redacted] is correct that her book sales were updated on 12/17/2015 and they do not reflect a sale on September 11th. It...

is important for Ms. [redacted] to understand that the sales report reflects when the retailer purchased the books from [redacted], not when a customer purchases a book from the retailer. [redacted] ordered four copies of her book in June. [redacted] did not report any sales to [redacted] in September, which means that the copy her friend purchased from [redacted] in September would have been one of the copies [redacted] ordered from [redacted] in June.
Ms. [redacted] reviewed two different proofs of her interior file. In her last correspondence she says that the first time she saw the mistakes in her book was when she received the ten copies of her book; however, that is not the case. It is clear that she was aware of the errors in her book prior to publication because she entered them as edits to her first interior proof. The problem is some of the corrections were not properly implemented and Ms. [redacted] did not bring that to our attention when she reviewed the second version of her proofs. Instead she approved her second interior proof for printing. As we mentioned in our previous response, we offered to waive half of the revision set-up fee, but Ms. [redacted] did not accept our offer. Instead she purchased 10 additional copies of her book.
Ms. [redacted] requested a copy of the email she was sent stating when it was her only chance to make corrections. We do not send authors an email like that; however, this is very clear on our website at the point when the author is reviewing their proof files. Attached is a screenshot of that page on our website. It clearly states: "Any errrors you do not indicate on the online edit forms will be published. All errors after final approval are your responsbility. Please be thorough when reviewing and authorizing your proofs." Every author must read these terms and click the box to indicate "Yes, I accept the terms above" in order to proceed. Ms. [redacted] checked this box to indicate that she was accepting our terms at that point in the process.
The "Marketing COACH" that Ms. [redacted] refers to is a series of automated emails that are sent out to authors once their book is published. These emails provide them with tips and advice on marketing their books. If Ms. [redacted] is not receiving these emails it is because she either changed her email address or she unsubscribed from the campaign. If she would like to receive these emails, we would be happy to re-subscribe her; however, she mentioned receiving these in one of her earlier messages and she did not like that these emails mentioned additional marketing products/services sold by Outskirts Press.
Finally, Ms. [redacted] mentions some retailers that are listing her book for sale online at exceedingly high prices. That's right, with on-demand distribution, books published through Outskirts Press become available for order globally through websites like [redacted] [redacted] and hundreds of other online retailers. These retailers are simply displaying the availability of the book. Any copies of the book that are ordered through any of the retailers online are printed by [redacted]. The retailer can list the book at whatever price they want. No matter what the retail price, Ms. [redacted] earns the same royalty amount for any new copies that are sold.
We find it unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] is still unsatisfied and we feel that she is experiencing buyer's remorse. However, we stand by our previous responses. She has already received the services she paid for, and she is not entitled to a refund.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/05) */
Dear [redacted]
Thank you for forwarding notification of a Revdex.com complaint filed by [redacted] We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted you. Outskirts Press is happy...

to provide the following detailed response to [redacted] concerns to the Revdex.com. Our excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to us.
[redacted] indicates in her complaint that customer service is awful and that the team she was promised does not exist. This claim is simply not true. We were in regular contact with [redacted] and she has had a publishing team assigned to her from the moment she purchased her publishing package.
[redacted] initially indicated that she wanted to purchase custom illustrations through our company. She was informed that she needed to log into her account, pay for the illustrations and then approve production so that we could begin working on the illustrations.
[redacted] called in on June 17, 2015 and indicated that she no longer wanted the custom illustrations but instead decided to submit 8 interior images with her manuscript. She indicated that she was upset over the time this was taking. We understood that [redacted] wanted to move forward quickly on her book and we gave her complimentary expedited service to help make that happen.
We emailed [redacted] on June 24, 2015 asking her for the status of the interior images that she told us she was going to submit. We emailed her again on June 29, 2015 asking the same question. [redacted] responded on June 30, 2015 and said that she is going on vacation and that she will be ready to submit her images on July 11, 2015 when she returned.
[redacted] sent us an email on July 23, 2015 expressing frustration that she could not upload her photos from within her account. She indicated that she wanted a refund as a result. Then she filed a complaint with the Revdex.com.
In her Revdex.com complaint, [redacted] claims that Outskirts Press makes it impossible to pull up her book or to find her original project. While we regret any confusion [redacted] has over our process, her account opens and goes directly to her book when she logs into her account. [redacted] has always had a consultant working with her assist her with her questions and her project.
[redacted] desired resolution is a refund which we are happy to accommodate despite the fact that we would prefer to help her complete her project as we have already started the process.
We feel that Outskirts Press has performed in accordance with our publishing contract that [redacted] agreed to when she purchased her publishing package. In light of our detailed response, we request that [redacted] complaint be removed from our record at this time.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: the response did not actually represent my correspondence with the company. I made my request clear in writing and phone discussion with Outskirts Press representative. I emailed my request several times and told them that I was not requesting the Print Ready File, according to the report. Outskirts was simply trying to be difficult. Their intention was to frustrate me into paying additional cost for the manuscript. I told them that it was a bad business practice, yet I was ignored. I got my manuscript after my complaint to the Revdex.com and that's all that I wanted to happen.  I am completely dissatisfied with the way I have been treated by this company, but since I have received  my manuscript, I will rest my case with them and move on with my life.I am very grateful with the Revdex.com for taking up this matter with the urgency it required.  You guys rock!

Dear [redacted]
Thank you for forwarding the complaint submitted by [redacted]. We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted you. Outskirts Press is happy to provide the...

following response to [redacted]'s concerns to the Revdex.com. Our excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to us.

Our Publishing Agreement specifically states in I-1 that the author retains the rights to their submitted manuscript and other materials. Here is that portion of our agreement which the author accepted when he purchased his publishing package: "AUTHOR RETAINS 100% OF THE RIGHTS AND COPYRIGHT LICENSES to the submitted manuscript and all other material submitted to Outskirts Press, Inc." As you requested, the full Publishing Agreement is attached with our response.
The agreement does not grant the author rights to the formatted files. If an author chooses to purchase the print-ready files, there is an additional fee of $499 for those files. However, since [redacted] did not understand this and was clearly upset, as a courtesy we have waived the $499 fee and gifted him his print ready files.
Although we feel we have fully performed in accordance with our Publishing Agreement, we have also granted [redacted] his desired resolution. This morning we received an email from [redacted] stating, "I have enformed Revdex.com that you have released my files. Thanks for your cooperation." This demonstrates that this issue has been resolved to [redacted]'s satisfaction. As a result, we request that this complaint be removed from our record at this time.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have 2 more concerns to be resolved.
1. I like to request that the eBook edition file be sent to me cause I paid for it and further sales be terminated as well.
2. I also would like a written notice that the [redacted] edition and distribution is terminated.
The above 2 issues are like "blind spots" I like to resolve.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/10/09) */
Dear [redacted]
Thank you for forwarding the additional communication from [redacted].
[redacted] our Director of Production, emailed [redacted] on October 2nd advising him that if he wants to make changes to his unsecured eBook file, he needs to purchase a full version of [redacted] software directly from [redacted]
In her email, [redacted] also confirmed for [redacted] that the screen shot he references does confirm that his [redacted] has been terminated.
We feel that we have done everything possible to address [redacted]'s concerns and we hope that he is now satisfied with the resolution.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: There are inaccuracies I need to point out. It is true Outskirts communicated with me in the beginning, but it was about it. Most of the communication was very impersonal via email and it was actually only once I got to speak to someone over the phone after I'd made an appointment. I was basically told that since the cover templates offered did not fit my needs (I wanted to use front and back image) I would either have to purchase an expensive custom cover package or do this on my own (rather so hire someone to do that). This left me abandoned and unsupported, and was not clearly communicated in the package I'd purchased. After some search I started working on the cover on my own side with a hired help but we could not finish the cover for ISBN, bar code and other statistics needed to fit and those would be only provided after the finished, formatted  manuscript (so I was told). It felt like a chicken and an egg game...Anyway I submitted the edited manuscript, hoping I would receive the needed codes in the meantime....hovever never received any response. I had nothing to do then but waiting and  keep improving the manuscript, hoping to get a response. By December 2015 I felt this was enough, and I sent another email, re-sending a final version of the manuscript, demanding response. I emailed several times and left a couple messages for my alleged helper on his voicemail. No response ever. Finally I wrote couple emails asking for my money to be returned, since no one talked to me. This too did not happen. Had I spoken to anyone form Outskirts then I would have no need to contact Revdex.com. I do appreciate Outskirts contacting me recently, offering to return my money minus $50 processing fee. Honestly, I am not happy about the processing fee (what for? Nothing Outskirts press done has helped me in the future publishing of my book, and this whole issue gave me a lot of trauma which I'm still recovering) and I would prefer to receive the whole amount, but I am exhausted and do not feel like going another round of arguments so will gracefully accept what has been offered.  Receiving the whole amount I paid would make me truly appreciated by the company seeking to make the best ammends, and I'd be willing to erase all of my complaints.
Sincerely,
[redacted]i

Dear [redacted],Thank you for forwarding the complaint submitted by [redacted]i.  We at Outskirts Press take pride in our services and find it unfortunate that one of our customers has contacted you.  Outskirts Press is happy to provide the following detailed response to [redacted]i’s concerns to...

the Revdex.com.  Our excellent standing within the Revdex.com is very important to us.[redacted]i purchased two publishing packages with us in 2013.  Both times he completed these orders on our website he accepted the terms of our Publishing Agreement prior to completing his purchase. Our publishing agreement clearly states in Section IV, #18 that the author is responsible for a $25.00 annual digital storage and hosting fee for each title: "Each January following publication, Author agrees to pay an annual digital storage and hosting fee in the amount of $25 for each print format of Title so title can continue to receive Standard Digital Distribution and availability through all the sales channels included with the Publishing Package. To avoid termination of Title, the annual storage fee must be paid within 30 days following its placement in the Author’s online shopping cart."[redacted]i paid the $25 annual storage fee for both of his titles in 2014 and 2015. He owes his $25 storage fees for both titles for 2016 and 2017. His current balance due is $100.00 ($50.00 per title).  As a courtesy we have not terminated either of his titles. To date [redacted]i has received royalty payments totaling $478.56. His last royalty payment was for sales ending the 2nd quarter 2015. He was eligible to receive his royalties at that time because his storage fees were current. As outlined in Section II, #12 of our Publishing Agreement once the total accrued royalties exceed $25.00 for authors residing in the US they are disbursed: "Royalties are paid to Author within 90 days following the end of the calendar quarter in which Wholesale Book Sales (as defined above) occurred, once the total accrued Royalty meets or exceeds $25 for an author residing in the United States, or $100 for an author residing outside of the United States."[redacted]i accrued $6.17 in royalties for the balance of 2015. From September 2016 – April 2017 [redacted]i has accrued an additional $85.48 in royalties. His total accrued balance is $91.65.  Once he pays his $100.00 storage fee balance we will be delighted to disburse the royalties he has accrued since his last payment. In light of our detailed response, we request [redacted]i’s complaint be removed from our record at this time.Thank you for your help in this matter.Sincerely,[redacted]

Dear [redacted]:     Thank you for forwarding us Mr. [redacted]’s additional concerns. We are sorry to hear that Mr. [redacted] is not satisfied with our original response. Mr. [redacted] has confirmed that he did receive a full refund for his second publishing package.  We are sorry that he experienced communication issues with his Publishing Consultant.  We do strive to be as responsive and proactive as possible with our customers.  It is clear from his response that something broke down in our communications with Mr. [redacted] and I am sorry to hear that happened. Regarding his concern about his book sales, it is important for Mr. [redacted] to understand that book sales are reported in the author's center within 60 days of the end of the month in which the sale occurred.  That means that a sale which occurred in March 2016 would be reported by the end of May 2016.  There was one sale for March 2016 reported in Mr. [redacted]'s author center on April 22nd.  It is also important for him to understand that sales are reported to Outskirts Press when the retailer purchases the copy from [redacted] (the distributor), not when a customer purchases a copy from the retailer. Retailers like [redacted] sometimes purchase extra copies of a book to have in stock based on sales trends. If a customer purchases a copy from [redacted] that [redacted] already has in stock, that sale would have already been reported to the author when [redacted] originally purchased the book from [redacted].  We are sorry that Mr. [redacted] was unsatisfied with our original response. We believe his remaining concerns stem from a lack of understanding about the book sales reporting process; however we are performing in accordance with the publishing agreement that Mr. [redacted] accepted when he purchased his first publishing package.  We do hope our response clarifies some things for him and we wish Mr. [redacted] well with his future publishing endeavors. Thank you for your help in this matter. Sincerely, [redacted] Executive Vice President
