I was billed for a service three timesI was also over charged (charged) for a free estimateThey advertise that they will analyze the hard drive for freeI was also told this over the phone from a service repThe charged me $for shipping the hard drive there but only charged me $for a total of $Its clear that there was a hidden charge for the shippingSo now I have three $charges on my account I would had never sent my hard drive for repair if the service rep would had been honestThe rep said that if they could not repair the item, they would send me a new hard drive for the same price ($60)I asked her if she was sure and she stated "My tech do wonderful things, its amazing the things I've seen them do here." I clearly stated the problem with the unit, but they insist on that they can fix units, they hope the customer just gives them the hard drives for parts
Let me begin by quoting from an email which I received from Outsource Data on 2/26/2015: 'We have a strict "no data - no charge" policy, meaning if we are not able to recover all your data and bring it up to a satisfactory level there will be no charges made for this service' This same entry was on their web page at that time; I can no longer find it there I sent my friend's business drive to them after talking to Alex D [redacted] of Outsource Data and being told to expect a $charge to replace the circuit board and for data recoveryBefore I sent the drive to them we discussed their satisfaction guarantee, and I was assured that I wouldn't pay if I wasn't happy with the results of the recoveryI was soon contacted and told that the damage went beyond the circuit board and would cost $for repair and recoveryWe once again discussed their satisfaction policyI was soon contacted with a list of recovered filesI have not received the files – only a list The recovered file
I was mis-advised on two areas I was not given complete details on their payments plans or cancellation costs I just found at about their very high cancellation fee (20%) I also found out that you don't get you data back on a payment plan, until AFTER they receive full payment When I looked into the recovery service, under their FAQ it mentioned about doing payments plans and being able to cancel It never mention anything about a cancellation fee NOR getting full payment before getting your data I wasn't told this until it was too late They then sent a link to this on their website Now why they don't include on their FAQ is beyond me I figured once I found their information on for FAQ, I didn't think I needed to look deeper into their website
