Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The response from the business is laughable...I don't even know where to start.Nothing they stated was true. Why am I supposed to bring the car by when it is still running?...once the fuel line failed, that's when it needs to be towed, not before that. That and the fact that it failed twice, and they still refused to tow it to their shop. The rear main seal was pointed out after we picked the car up and paid in full when we brought it back a few days later because it was still leaking...they missed it, plain and simple...I never said I would "Get it later"...that is a lie.Any mechanic that has been in the trade for more than 10 minutes knows you NEVER EVER re-use a timing belt...to say that I told them not to is a bald faced lie. If they do not want to take responsibility for their shoddy work, that is fine. I will pursue the matter in court, which won't be a problem since I have more verifiable mechanical experience than both of these guys combined. They will be made to look like the uneducated, dishonest, lying incompetent con artists that they are.

I am replying to the complaint that you receive regarding [redacted]. We worked on his daughters car which had a bad head gasket. In the midst of pulling the engine apart there where loose and missing bolt throughout the engine including a broken bolt in the top motor mount. Also, noticed the...

rear main seal was leaking and needed replaced, [redacted] said he would take care of that later and his focus was the head gasket. We pulled the head of the car and usually we send it down to a Machine shop ([redacted]) but he wanted to pick it up and take it to his buddy's place ([redacted]) because he would get the work done for free. A few days later [redacted]'s wife brought the head back to us. We installed the head with new head bolt, head gasket, spark plugs and thermostat housing. We routinely also replace the the timing belt, however [redacted] instructed us not to because the engine had been rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and was replaced at that time. After getting engine put together we replaced missing bolts and broken motor mount bolt. With everything fixed [redacted] came to pick up the car and pay the bill. Three weeks later [redacted]'s daughter called and said it was making some weird noises and we told her to bring it buy and we will look at it. She never brought it by. About two weeks later[redacted] called and said it was broke down spraying gas out from under the car and wanted us to have it towed to the shop. We told him that we were not paying for a tow when he could have brought the car by when it still ran. So he had it towed to the shop and we popped the hood and the fuel line was disconnected. We hooked the fuel line up and it started up with no noise or problems. A few days later when his daughter picked up the car we asked her how much oil the car was leaking, because of the rear main seal, she informed us that she refills a quart per week, and when the engine started to made noises she knew it needed oil. About one month later we received a call from [redacted] informing us that the car left his wife and daughter stranded at the college. He said the vehicle was spraying fuel out from under it again and requested we tow the vehicle to our shop at our expense. We told him we would take care of it and got the vehicle back to the shop. Upon inspection the plastic clip that holds the fuel line in place was broken, this was the second new fuel clip we installed at our expense. Then [redacted]'s daughter picked it up and we physically showed her what the issue was.Received a call from [redacted] and he said the car was broke down again and we needed to have it towed to our show. We told him we would take a look at it however would not pay for the tow. He threatened that he would sue us for not paying to have the car towed. Later we received a review on our business facebook page from [redacted] regarding the vehicle and he stated that the new timing belt we installed failed. When we initially worked on the head gasket it was [redacted]'s request to not install a new timing belt so we didn't. We went above and beyond in trying to make these issues right. We don't understand why the fuel line came off twice however took care of the problem.
