[redacted]: The following is in response to the complaint filed on 7/8/2015. On April 9, 2015 our office received, via email from [redacted] Home Services, a request to call homeowner concerning a leak in a bathroom.  A call was placed and an appointment was set...

for 8:00-8:30 am on April 10, 2015.[redacted] from our office went out and inspected the area of concern.  He saw two soil pipe boots were cracked and in need of replacement. The wife signed the contract at that time and had the work completed on April 15, 2015. When [redacted] replaced the boots the wife was shown the cracked, old boots that were on her roof.  All our repairs have a 30 day guarantee as per our contract.  Attached contract.  Overhead Roofing is one of the few roofing companies in Cincinnati that will do small repair jobs. On June 23, 2015 the wife called. Over 2 months after original repair was completed.  She stated, "4/10/15 [redacted] came out water was pouring through vent. Insurance Company said needs only 5 or 6 shingles." Appointment was set for Monday, June 29, 2015 for 10:30-11:00 am..  Mark was sent to the appointment. [redacted] looked in bathroom and saw no noticeable water marks on the ceiling. The water had come through the exhaust vent located in the ceiling of the bathroom.  [redacted] climbed into attic and noticed the pvc plumbing pipe needed to be secured to a truss or joist.  The pvc pipe was freely moving around causing water to drip down the pipe.  [redacted] told the wife that she needed to call a plumber to attach the pvc pipe with a strap to keep it from moving around and causing water to penetrate.Customer was not charged for the follow up appointment. Homeowner waited 14 days and contacted [redacted] Home Service for a Plumbing referral on July 6, 2015. [redacted] Plumbing was the referral given.  On July 8, 2015 [redacted] Plumbing came out to inspect plumbing pipe in attic and was told by wife that the roof is being replaced.  The day the plumber was out to the above mentioned home he did not notice any buckets to catch water or "flooding" in the bathroom even though it was raining that day.  When in the attic he saw drops of water on pvc pipe when he moved the pipe up and down.  The plumber recommended that the pipe be secured to the rafter. (per email page 2)  Which is the same recommendation that the Repair specialist with Overhead Roofing had given the homeowner. July 8, 2015 we received an email from [redacted] Home Services - attached.  In the email the wife states she has $[redacted] worth of damage to the bathroom and that the bathroom had water leaking again started June 20 but she did not contact us until June 23.  FromApril 15 when repair was completed until she contacted our Company on June 23 saying it started leaking again, during that time frame, according to Accuweather Premium, the Hamilton-Fairfield Airport received 9.08 inches of rain.  Homeowner's area received over 9 inches of rain and water had not penetrated bathroom for over 2 months of extremely rainy weather.  [redacted] noted no visible water marks on  bathroom ceiling on June 29th.  Friday, July 10, 2015  [redacted] Home Services received another email stating homeowner no longer wanted contact with our company. Attached.  At the request from [redacted] Home Services the wife called Overhead Roofing, Inc. and spoke with the owner on July 13, 2015.  During the discussion the owner of Overhead Roofing explained how the boots could become stretched due to movement of the unsecured pvc piping, and that caulking is never applied to the casket portion of the boot.  The owner of Overhead Roofing had two conversations with the wife along with two additional conversations that occurred between the repair specialist and the wife after June 23, 2015.  At no time was a request for or discussion concerning a full or partial refund made to Overhead Roofing from the homeowner. The work that was contracted with the homeowner was completed and was necessary.  There were other external problems that developed and caused a secondary leak over two months and nine inches of rain later.  By the time the homeowner had contacted Overhead Roofing, they were outside of their repair warranty period.  We at Overhead Roofing have been in business for over 21 years and currently have this one complaint with the Revdex.com.  We contribute our outstanding record to not being perfect by any means but instead by taking care of problems and fixing those problems.  If the homeowners desired settlement was a refund she should have asked the company rather than a third party.  Even though Overhead Roofing has completed the contract for the repair, we will in good faith to help expedite the finalization of the homeowners complaint we will [redacted].   [redacted]Overhead Roofing, Inc

Revdex.com:I have not heard back from Overhead Roofing as of July 27th, per their response to you. I appreciate their details about the work they did, but they are inaccurate with dates. When the information says I waited 14 days to contact the company, I had to wait 1 day for my husband to return from an overseas business trip to check the attic on his own, and then immediately contacted the plumber. Because I had to wait for a plumber to be available, I could not contact the Overhead Roofing company until I heard back from the plumber. I was not doing nothing; I was waiting until I had all of the facts. As of July 28th, a different company is replacing the whole roof. There is too much damage done internally also, and the reference to not seeing stains on the ceiling in the bathroom is surprising. I have 10 photos detailing the damage inside, and numerous photos from the other roofing company detailing the damage outside, which I can send to Overhead Roofing if needed.I did speak to [redacted], the owner, 2x, and did say to him the last time we spoke in July (July 9) that we feel we had wasted our money because now the whole roof is being replaced, and although we were assured by [redacted] in April that the new boots would fix the problem, they did not. Now we have thousands more dollars of damage, when I had been assured the boots would fix the problem.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, if the company refunds the money.
Regards,
[redacted]
