It is our position that the claims made against The Overlook At Stone Oak are unwarranted. COMPLAINTS:1. “I have lived in this complex since October 2016. I keep to myself and never have any issues with my neighbors as I’m cordial with everyone. My complex was recently taken over by new management which we were never made aware of. I found out when I called the office for a service issue. They did not appear very friendly but I didn’t think much more of it.” This is untrue, this property was taken over by CAF management in August of 2016, before this resident moved in and has not changed management companies since. 2. “I went to the office one day for a separate issue and learned of an unofficial noise complaint in my record. Based on the information given, I knew what neighbor it came from as this person has a record in my building for being extremely unfriendly and borderline harassing other neighbirs. I later learned that he is an ATF agent and he lives above me. I told the office of how uncomfortable he makes me feel to the point where I don’t like sitting outside of my apartment anymore because I don’t want to run into him. I live alone and try to stay as quiet as possible while still living my normal life. My neighbor and whoever lives with him are constantly making noise and stopping around above me all hours of the day and night. I’ve come home on several occasions and found their trash directly put in front of my door as if someone placed it there.” Any noise complaint that is brought to our attention is followed up with a phone call or a written violation that is posted to the door. We address every complaint that any resident brings to our attention. This is normal protocol. 3. My complaints to management have been completely disregarded to the point where they don’t even record it when I walk in to tell them of what’s going on. But if o breathe too hard on my apartment, management is quick to call my personal phone and TELL me to quite down without having been here to witness anything. They immediately take my neighbors side without question.” This is untrue. Any complaint as stated above is always addressed with both parties. 4. Also, I am the only African American in this building as far as I have ever seen and both my neighbor and management are white. I do not like to pull the discrimination card but I cannot help but to feel that way with everything that is going on.” We do not steer our resident to one apartment or another.
