Own A Car of Modesto Reviews (3)
Review: They went out of business and I need to obtain a copy of the extended warranty they sold me.
I just need to get the company's name they used for their extended warrantys. If not I would like a refund in the amount of the warranty because I have to way of using it without knowing the name of the company, it wasn't in the paperwork when I bought it back in august 2012. Review: I am paying off a loan for double the amount of cars value and business has since been shut down for fraud. Still trying to figure out my contract.
When I went in I had no credit and was told I could still get a car. They accepted $500-$1000 deposit yet told bank it was $1000-$1500 to get approved. I found out after moving out of state that business was shut down for fraud and I am stuck with a loan for double the cars value and [redacted] Credit will not work with me on payments or tell me what is going on since the business is now closed. I am trying to find out if my loan is legitimate since they are associated with fraud and find out if they have done anything illegal under my name to obtain this loan that I am still paying.Desired Settlement: I would like information and hopefully resources to find out if everything is legit with this loan and I need to know if I am still financially responsible for the full amount even though it seems like a unreasonable balance. After almost two years and I still owe more than the car is worth according to Kelley Blue Book.
We paid $12,003.00 for a 2001 Lexus Rx300 on 06/17/12, the transmission failed three days later 06/20/12, and we returned in on 06/21/12.
They said they'll have their mechanic work on it, so the sales man says their mechanic doesn't work on transmissions. So they are taking it to another shop after making me purchase a warranty for another $500.00 (which they back dated to the date of our car purchase), and I can't get an answer about when we'll get it back. They have us driving a PT cruiser piece of [redacted]- with no license plates!
