P S G Plumbing Reviews (1)
Review: Pgs plumbing was asked to come to our house, which we have just purchased, to diagnose a problem with our boiler. [redacted] came to our house and charged us a $75 fee to 'look' at the boiler. [redacted] neglected to diagnose the simple problem with our boiler, instead he informed us that we should prepare for about $1,000 in repairs for new pipes because the existing ones were in bad repair and that we might have to have a whole new boiler installed. He then proceeded to inform us that WE should not have to pay for these costly repairs, but that we should contact the JAG office on post and perhaps a lawyer to get the money for these repairs from our home inspector, that presumably he, himself would be paid for. My husband did actually unnecessarily spend a couple days chasing this avenue at the JAG office.
I thought it a little odd that [redacted] was laying out so much work to be done while being so general about what was actually not working in the system. I was also a leary about his diagnosos because our boiler situation seemed to get exponentally worse once he confirmed we were a new military family in the area.
Instead of having [redacted] return, we had another company come out to look at our boiler. They were able to diagnose the problem. The pressure was too high and the expansion tank had to be drained. [redacted] never even mentioned or looked at the tank. Fortunately we were able to have an honest and knowledgable professional come to our house to fix the problem in an hour and a half for $200.
I am very disapointed in [redacted] professional ethic. I do not think it is honest work to come out to a home and charge folks a premium for telling them that you need to make costly repairs. We are paying [redacted] bill for essentially NO WORK completed. We asked him to come to our house with the understanding he would diagnose the problem, but that was not done. We are paying him for a trip out to our house and nothing more. Then we had to call up a competitor to come out and solve and fix the problem.
I believe it is unjust of [redacted] to be charging military families to come out to their homes just to LOOK at their plumbing without actually completing ANY work and falsely misrepresenting what work actually was required. If we had not gotten a second opinion from a more reputable company we would be spending thousands of dollars to repair a perfectly fine boiler.
I am writing this complaint because I am so disturbed by [redacted] lack of ethics and I would hope it could save another family from losing money.Desired Settlement: I would like the Revdex.com to work with the ft drum jag office to have a red flag list of contractors so that military families can be better protected from predatory business practices.
