Thank you PA Basement Waterproofing for helping me with my basement! I have been dealing with an ongoing problem for years!!! Contractor after contractor...no one could help! PA Basement Waterproofing knew exactly what to do! They were honest and did not try to sell me on something I didn't need to correct the problem. The crew wasn't just on time...he was early!!! Did the work...in and out in no time! No mess left behind either! In this day and age...what a blessing that a company is there to do the job and do it well! Thank you again for helping me with my problem.

When we contacted PA BASEMENT WATERPROOFING they sent out their chief inspector on a sat morning he gave us the quote and explained thoroughly what our mold problem was from a crawl space to the first floor of our mountain home. We immediately hired them we knew they were very professional from his conversation. They remediated our serious problem in a few weeks. We would recommend them highly they did the job plus.

Review: hired company for mold remediation. Paid very high price and expected professional, quality work. Instead was left with butchered work and had to clean up after them and masonry repair work is needed. Tried to comunicate with company and thet think they weny "above and beyond" I now have to have other companies come in to try and fix their shabby work.Desired Settlement: Repair busted out outside finished brick, properly repair damaged floor in utility room at water heater. Smooth out troweled floor so tiles will stick. Repair damaged block wall as promised.

I am rejecting this response because:

I paid high dollars to have old paneling and cellulose based, tongue and groove, ceiling tiles professionally removed and the block wall underneath the paneling treated for mold and mildew. The expensive plaster walls were to be left alone. PA Basement brought in obviously unskilled laborers who ripped up my good plaster work and simply treated the block walls with a dry ice sprayer. They packed up and left me to scrape the old peeling paint and dirt off the walls and take care of treating them. I then got caught in the middle of a feud btween the forman and the president in which the foreman told me I never had mold. When confronted the company president told me he had fired the foreman who was in question of stealing and to let him know if I saw him because he had warrants against him in Ohio. Then the original salesman showed up not to resolve the problems but to try and sale me remodling the mess they just left me with. With my entire home now contaminated with the sandy brown block debris I felt the quickest way, without a long drawn out expensive court case, was to just suck it up and pay out their seemingly extortion style of business. What started out as an $18,000.00 job has escalated into me paying $635.00 for the dumpster,$758.00 for the paint and $900.00 for two partial days for two men one who operated the sprayer and the other who pulled nails that were left behind from the original agreement. I still have hundreds maybe thousands of dollars in plaster repair.

Desired Settlement

Return the cost of paint and labor, dumpster, and repair to unnecessarrily damaged quality crafted plaster job. These services and their cost were absolutly necessary to fulfill the obligation of the job in which they were hired to do. I had to sleep in my car for three nights after the job until I was furnished by PA Basement with a heppa air flow filter in which they felt this corrected all their wrong actions. I have been being treated for clinical depression and p.t.s.d. and their incompetance exasperated my condition from about 08/02/2013 to their last day 10/08/2013.

On August 2nd, 2013 [redacted] signed a contract with Pa Basement to do 142 feet of sub-floor waterproofing system plus 2 pumps. **. [redacted] said he had bad mold problems in his home, he wanted everything removed on all of the exterior walls including, the dry wall, the shake board, paneling, studs and all exterior wall covering and to mold remediate his basement walls, the price far this was $15898.00. On Monday August 19th, 2013, we did a pre-installation inspection and **. [redacted] asked us to remove all of the walls and all of the ceiling because he wanted to be sure to get rid of all mold. **. [redacted] told him that he would do so but **. [redacted] would then have to furnish the cost for the dumpster but we would not charge him any extra money. We originally started this project on August 22nd, the heating and air conditioning unit was sealed off during this process, at the end of this process we hepa vacuumed and hand washed and cleaned all of the ceilings, walls and floor. **. [redacted] at this point and time did pay us in full. On September 06th, 2013 he filed a complaint with the Revdex.com stating that we did not clean up the mess that we had apparency left behind after finishing the mold remediation.

Both owners, at the time of receiving the Revdex.com complaint, **. [redacted] and **. [redacted], went out to **. [redacted]s house and **. [redacted] said he was happy with everything except with the discharge line because we had messed up the brick on the outside and we agreed to fix it and we would be out the next business day to repair it. **. [redacted] asked him if there was any other problems and he showed us how we went around the hot water heater so we also explained why we went around the hot water heater because **. [redacted] was a little confused on why we did it that way but was okay and happy with our explanation. At that point and time he expressed his gratitude to us for fixing his problem and that he was so happy, and that everything was so clean that he could sleep better at night. The next business day as promised we did fix the brick.

On approximately October 2nd, 2013, **. [redacted] called and stated to us at that point and time that the house was so unclean he could not bear to sleep in it anymore because there was literally dust flying out of the heater and he would have to go get a motel. **. [redacted] told him at this time that I would be right down and took two guys with him for further assistance. When he and the guys arrived at **. [redacted]'s house he went down into the basement and he was grinding and scraping all of the walls so that he could take the paint of to repaint like he expressed that he wanted too. **. [redacted] also said to **. [redacted] in private that he had been scraping and grinding for days, he had dust everywhere at this point and time and had swept the dust up along the floor where the floor and wall meets. **. [redacted] stated that he did not realize he needed to turn the hvac unit turned off and also did have to have the hvac people come out to fix the problem with that. **. [redacted] told **. [redacted] that he would buy a brand new air scrubber for the mess and dust that **. [redacted] had created so that **. [redacted] could use it for himself for about a week at no cost to **. [redacted]. **. [redacted] asked if Pa Basement could paint the walls for him because he just could not do it anymore. **. [redacted] told him that if **. [redacted] bought the paint, Pa Basement would clean up the mess made by **. [redacted] and that we would paint all of the whole entire perimeter for $900.00. After completing the painting **. [redacted] asked if there was anything else that we could do for **. [redacted] and he expressed at that point and time that there was nothing else and he was so happy that we came back and helped him paint and take off the old paint because he just could not do it himself. **. [redacted] also told him that if there was any other issues to please give him a call personally and we would take care of him.

The original contract was for waterproofing and mold remediation, it was not for painting of the basement. In regards to the original foreman, he was fired but this had nothing to do with **. [redacted]'s job. In regards to the salesmen coming back out and trying to sell him finishing, **. [redacted] called the salesmen to come out and look at the brick that

was broken, at that time **. [redacted] mentioned to the salesmen that he was not sure if he wanted to finish his basement off or not the salesmen just mentioned that we also do basement finishing and if **. [redacted] was interested he would have the finishing salesmen come out.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: **. [redacted] showed up the last day of work before the job was complete and demanded $900.00. When I said I needed to inspect the job first he through a fit and started screaming " I WANT MY MONEY!". Then he yelled at his employee, " pack up everything and get off the site". PA Basement was awarded this job under the pretense they tested for mold before and after the job. Their own employee, [redacted], called me and told me I was scammed, there was no mold in my house and he would testify to that. When I confronted **. [redacted] his reply was [redacted] was fired for stealing and that was just retaliation. For $15,898.00 PA Basement left me with concrete nails in the block wall, plaster walls that were to be untouched now broken with sharp wire mesh hanging every where. Thinking I had a mold problem I was trying to do the right thing so I could sell and move now that I am retired. Treating the walls is a standard procedure in water proofing a basement. The behavior of **. [redacted] and the unnecessary stress put on me with PA Basements internal conflict and the additional financial and emotional cost, which are not yet finished, has been devastating. I still need to hire contractors to repair the damaged plaster and that was not included in my request for a settlement.

Business
