Pacific Auction Company Reviews (1)

Review: On Nov 14th 2015, my partner and I, attended an event that was held by the [redacted]). This event had a silent auction with bid sheets provided. Upon entry to the event, we had the opportunity to place bids on the items with a minimum bid amount. I placed a bid on a framed picture of [redacted], that had a minimum starting bid @ $150.

At the end of the biding process, I was informed that I was the winner of this item. I was very happy to have won, paid for the item and went home with it. A week later, I received a call from [redacted] that there was an error in the original listed minimum bid amount, as the item was worth much more than expected. I informed them that an Auction as per Webster's dictionary is - "a process of buying and selling goods or services, by offering them for bid and then selling the item to the highest bidder."

I was that highest bidder and was sold the item.

Since then, on or about Dec. 12, 2015, a man named [redacted] from the Pacific Auction House, who provided the item for Auction, has been calling my number, harassing me, disparaging my name, threatening me with police and court actions. He has made my vacation trip, this life trip to the land of my ancestors, unbearable and miserable. His threats and harassments have me scared and looking over my shoulder. This has to end.Desired Settlement: I demand a letter of apology from Mr. [redacted] and Pacific Auction Company, with a registered copy to [redacted] for the unacceptable, disparaging way that I have treated personally and with the organization. I am requesting that I be compensated for the psychological pressures that I was put thru while on vavacation. If you do not cease and desist, then I would have no options but take legal action.

Business

Response:

As noted in the complaint, our company was hired to provide auction services in support of the wonderful work of the [redacted] and did so on Nov. 14. One of our staff members inadvertently brought a very valuable, hand signed photo collage of the great [redacted] to the auction, when the auction item was supposed to be an unsigned framed photo. Ms. [redacted] placed a winning bid for what should have been the unsigned photo, [redacted] processed her payment, and she went home with the signed item instead. Once we learned that a mistake had been made, we attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] in good faith to explain, rectify and resolve what had happened, thinking that surely she would understand that an error had been made and would want to do the right thing. Our intention upon recouping the item was not only to offer her a full refund, but to give her the correct piece with our compliments, and to also make a donation to [redacted] in her name so that the bid she placed would essentially be doubled. We first tried to reach Ms. [redacted] by requesting assistance from [redacted], and was informed by [redacted] that she was not interested in talking with us. We then tried to call Ms. [redacted] directly on December 9, December 12and January 6. We never received a return call from Ms. [redacted] and the complaint to the Revdex.com is the first time that we have heard from her. It is unfortunate that we were unable to connect with Ms. [redacted] and resolve this in a more equitable manner. We continue to hold out hope that Ms. [redacted] will recognize that we have lost several thousand dollars, and will be open to a respectful dialogue towards a resolution. After all, [redacted] said “Don’t gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold”.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: this company has not addressed the issue at hand. The disparaging and threatening messages that were left on my phone due to NO FAULT OF MINE. This does not resolve the complaint. Sincerely, [redacted]
