06/07/ [redacted] Response to *** complaint ID: [redacted] Customer information [redacted] ***_ [redacted] *** (***) [redacted] [redacted] To whom it may concern, The customer purchased a powertrain coverage for months/ 24,mires with seats and gaskets coverage up to 125,miles only, Mr, [redacted] took the vehicle to [redacted] with 140,milesThe problem according to *** at [redacted] had nothing to do with the vehicle being lifted [redacted] said the vehicle being lifted never came 'in to question because it was an issue with a non-covered part the head gasket [redacted] and the independent inspector from [redacted] both agreed it was a non-covered partThe customer purchased a service contract on a high mileage vehicle that the only coverage available from us was the powertrain coverageThe customer even signed and initialed on the service contract that he was aware of the coverage he was purchasingWarranty paid a claim to [redacted] $for what they initially thought the issue was but did not fix the problem [redacted] FINANCE MANAGER (***) [redacted] PHONE (***) [redacted] FAX

Hi ***. Our respond to this complaint under customer name of *** ** ***We did help customer by taking in unit to fix it for him even though he bought it "AS IS" and chose not to purchase a service contract to protect the unitAs you know there is a "NO COOLING OFF
PERIOD" on this purchase meaning once documents are signed we cannot cancelWe never once did turn customer away in helping him reason why unit was here for week till problem with it was fixedWithin this week customer ended up changing his mind about the purchase which we could have refused based on what I just mentioned yet we didn'tWe mailed out to him check#in the amount of $7,and cancelled the transaction on our endCustomer also got legal advice and we received a letter from his attorney which states the same as your company Any other questions you might have please call meThank you -- Martha Loza Office Manager Pacific Auto Center (909) [email protected] Valley BlvdFontana, CA

I am rejecting this response because:
I fully understand that I only purchased the powertrain coverageThat's not my issueMy issue is I was never informed that the gaskets where not cover because the mileage of my truck was passed the limit of the coverageLike Mr*** state "the customer purchased a powertrain coverage for mths/ 24,miles WITH SEALS & GASKETS coverage up to 125,miles only" Mr*** never said this to me when I bought the coverageHe specifically stated that they whole engine was covered in this coverage, that is why I only purchased the powertrainSo now, I see that Mr*** sold me a policy that was not adequate for my vehicleI would like either Pacific or *** to help me pay for the repairs that are being done at *** ***, I don't expect the full amount but some help would be greatly appreciated

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12376476, and we accepted, but we are not satisfied. We asked from the beginning a return of our down payment. We seeked legal advice because they sold us a vehicle that would not legally pass smog from my understanding that is illegal we caught it within 2 hours of driving the vehicle off their lot, they agreed to fix it properly and take the truck to dodge but they did not they ignored us for 2 weeks, we got a call on Monday september 11 that the vehicle was fixed come pick it up when we asked what was wrong the guy said a screw was loose under the steering column we know for a fact that is false we refused the truck. I was finally able to get a finance manager by the name of [redacted] on the phone who looked into it and said the service manager who was supposed to take the truck to dodge and also call me but failed to do both was going to call and he did finally call the Tuesday after he said the truck was going to dodge to be diagnosed. I told [redacted] we did not want this vehicle we had been lied to someone tried to get us to pick the truck up even though they did not fix that truck after a few days I called [redacted] asking for an update and they had decided to give us a refund of our money.  We went in saturday the 16th signed papers regarding cancellation of the contract and they did not have a check for us but on the contract stated it would be mailed the 18th, the check was not mailed until the 21st and we did not recieve it until the 23rd we had to wait yet another week to receive our money. We are very dissatisfied with this dealership.

24 months/ 24,000 mires with seats and gaskets coverage up to 125,000 miles only, Mr, [redacted] took the vehicle to [redacted] with 140,390 miles. The problem according to [redacted] at [redacted] had nothing to do with the vehicle being lifted. [redacted] said the vehicle being lifted never came 'in to question because it was an issue with a non-covered part the head gasket. [redacted] and the independent inspector from [redacted] both agreed it was a non-covered part. The customer purchased a service contract on a high mileage vehicle that the only coverage available from us was the powertrain coverage. The customer even signed and initialed on the service contract that he was aware of the coverage he was purchasing. Warranty paid a claim to [redacted] $4886.53 for what they initially thought the issue was but did not fix the problem. [redacted] FINANCE MANAGER ([redacted])[redacted] PHONE ([redacted])[redacted] FAX
