Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Only business actually taking any sort of responsibility for their "guaranteed" transmissions was the rebuilder in California This company reimbursed for only hours of labor at $50/hour ($300) to remove their faulty transmission and install the replacementActual cost to remove and replace the transmission was $850...and my mechanic deeply discounted that price because he felt bad about initially referring me to Pacific Salvage Company I defy anyone to find a shop that will charge only $in labor for a transmission replacement In addition, there were so many metal shavings in the faulty transmission's brand new transmission fluid that I was also forced to replace all quarts of the *** transmission fluid, an additional $out of my pocket Stating that my van is "highly modified" is pure conjecture as MrC*** has never actually seen my van It is essentially the chassis and drivetrain of a *** *** *** with a van body on top All identical *** factory parts I could take the van to any *** dealership to be worked on Must be nice to own a business where you sit behind a desk all day bankng $per transmission by just jotting some numbers down and then relaying them to the people who actually do the work all the while being shielded from any liability for stated "guarantees"Reminds me of the Mafia where all monies are exchanged over state lines so that their is no threat of prosecution or recourse through local law enforcement or the courtsBTW, my mechanic has since moved on to another transmission salvage company on the island One that ACTUALLY upholds their guarantees I do admit some culpability though...I should have checked beforehand whether Pacific Salvage Company was Revdex.com approved...THEY ARE NOT!
Sincerely,
*** ***

Mr*** first contacted me at the suggestion of the repair facility that he had his broken vehicle towed toMr***'s vehicle is a heavily modified non-production van fitted with an aftermarket four wheel drive conversion packageAs this is not a
stock application, I was asked by Mr*** to help identify the transmission that his vehicle requiredI contacted our transmission supplier to get the correct information and was also given a price for a rebuilt transmissionI passed this information on to Mr*** and he decided to order the rebuilt unitUntil our meeting with *** *** ***, this is the last time I spoke to himAll further communication was with the repair facility (*** Automotive)I was contacted by *** and informed that unfortunately the rebuilt transmission was installed and failed almost immediatelyOur transmission rebuilder (Whittier Transmission) supplied a replacement unit at no cost, paid the shipping to get it delivered to *** Automotive, and paid *** Automotive's labor to remove and replace the transmission. Apparently, *** Automotive failed to inform Mr*** that the shipping and labor charges had been paid directly to themAfter this information came to light, and was thoroughly documented, Mr *** announced to the *** councilors and myself that he no longer wanted to pursue his claim against us.
Mr*** neglected to inform the court of his decision and I was required to make an appearance before small claims court, which Mr*** failed to attend The judge subsequently dismissed the case.
I resent Mr***'s characterization of my business and defer to our years of outstanding service to our customers
