Spada's Total Auto Repair Reviews (%countItem)

Had our vehicle worked on at Spadas, they replaced distributor, we were told it was finished. Picked our vehicle up and left for home 1000 miles away. On the road, car running so poorly, had to take into another repair shop, distributor was 180 degrees out of timing. Extra cost was over 100 dollars to finish fixing what Spadas did not complete. Called Spadas to ask them to pay, was told to bring it back when we were 300 miles away. Why wasn't it fixed right in the first place? We had to eat the extra cost. Beware!!!!
Product_Or_Service: Distributor replacement

Desired Outcome

Refund Would like to be reimbursed for out of pocket cost of $100.00.

This particular customers request for coverage of repairs made at another facility were denied for the following reasons. First, after repairs were made at our facility the vehicle was starting and running normally. We noted a possible transmission and exhaust issue in the after notes and customer declined additional diagnostics. Customer was satisfied, paid their bill and left without making any contact stating the vehicle isn't running properly. Customer then called two weeks later stating that the vehicle was not running properly when they were leaving town and they chose to drive it anyway instead of returning to our shop to allow us to make any needed repairs as per our warranty. They chose to head north with a poorly running vehicle and stopped 300 or so miles away (according to the customer who couldn't recall/would not tell us the name of the town) to have additional repairs made. When asked why they didn't return they stated they were leaving town and didn't wish to return. Per our warranty, customers are instructed to return when/if any issues arise to allow us the opportunity to remedy the situation. This customer did not provide us that opportunity even though they had 2 weeks to do so before leaving our area. Secondly, customer demanded a refund for repairs made at another automotive repair shop in the amount of $100 without providing any documentation that repairs were even made. When questioned customer could not provide the name of the repair facility nor the town the facility was located in.
Based on the customer's lack of following warranty guidelines, not informing us that there was a problem prior to them leaving even though they admitted the vehicle wasn't running properly before driving on the highway and their lack of documentation proving additional repairs had to be made, we denied their request for repayment of the "claimed" additional costs they endured to repair their vehicle.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
In response to ***'s
First, after repairs were made and we were told the vehicle was finished, we picked the car up and drove to a relative's house nearby, the car then sat and was not driven until we left for home, hence the time span.
second, we left for home early in the morning before ***'s was open, having no idea that there was a problem.
3rd, after having beachside tire and Auto Repair the timing that was out 180 degrees, we call spiders to ask for funds we were out because the timing should have been set right before the vehicle left his facility. In addition, we are sending proof that the actual worksheet for the timing calculations that ***'s used, we're left under our hood near the air intake and were used by beachside tire and Auto to determine the mistakes that ***'s had made in determining the timing. Harold and his crew worked on it 3 hours chew d to correct the timing. Also, ***'s had not reconnected the smog hose under the air filter canister. See attachment.
Fourth, ***'s response to the reimbursement was no, because we should have brought it back. She never asked where we got it fixed, otherwise we would have been glad to produce the place, we would never expect to be reimbursed without producing evidence, that's just dumb!

This will be the last correspondence we will provide on this matter as it is clear the customer does not want to adhere to the multiple requests made to provide documentation in order to receive a refund. On top of the fact that the accounts given by customer do not hold up per his description of issue and repair, as well as the fact that he is not being reasonable with providing proper documentation, we deny all requests made for a refund. Customers are responsible for providing all documents when requesting any type of refund. This goes for any business, not just ours. Stating that we must take your account of the incident just based on your word, even though the stories don't add up and, on top of that, you want us to track down the repair facility and obtain your invoice for you is inappropriate. If you wished a refund you could have done so appropriately on our first, second or even third request for proper documentation. To say that Mr. has attempted to postpone your refund by arguing is inaccurate and slanderous, as we have responded in a timely manner to each of your requests, each time asking you for proof of repairs. Any postponement is solely the fault of the customer who continually refuses to provide proper documentation of repairs as requested multiple times. Due to customer's unwillingness to adhere to requests we will no longer entertain any further requests for reimbursement. Mr. could at any point provided the requested documents and had his reimbursement request considered but he has chosen not to. Any further attempts to slander Mr. or the business's credibility will be considered a defamation of character and considered for further action against Mr..
