Padspin Reviews (110)
The platform connects you directly with landlords, eliminating the need for traditional brokers and their hefty fees. It's user-friendly and efficient, making it easy to browse listings, schedule viewings, and submit applications seamlessly.
In a city where every dollar counts, Padspin has saved me both time and money. It's a reliable resource for finding affordable apartments without the stress and financial burden of broker fees. If you're considering a move to NYC, Padspin is a must-have tool to navigate the rental market efficiently and cost-effectively.
My apartment hunt began like many others – endless scrolling through rental listings on various websites, making countless calls to real estate agents, and attending open houses. But the more I searched, the more disheartened I became. Broker fees in New York City were notorious for being exorbitant, often amounting to 15% of the annual rent, and I couldn't justify spending such a significant chunk of my savings on fees alone.
That's when a friend of mine, who had recently moved to the city, told me about Padspin. They spoke highly of the platform, emphasizing how it had revolutionized their apartment search by eliminating the need for brokers and their hefty fees. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try.
The Padspin website was user-friendly and had a wide range of listings. What truly set it apart, though, was its unique approach to renting apartments. Padspin acted as an intermediary between landlords and tenants, cutting out the need for traditional brokers. This meant that I could browse apartments, schedule viewings, and even apply for rentals all through the Padspin and without a broker. No more dodging aggressive sales pitches or worrying about hidden fees and competition – it was a breath of fresh air.
One sunny Saturday morning, I found an apartment listing that caught my eye. It was a charming one-bedroom in a lovely neighborhood with a reasonable rent that was within my budget. With Padspin, scheduling a viewing was a breeze. Within minutes, I had secured an appointment tour with the landlord.
When I arrived at the apartment, I was greeted by the friendly landlord, who was more than happy to show me around. The space was exactly as described in the listing, and I instantly fell in love with it. The best part? No broker fee! I knew I had to act fast in New York's competitive rental market, so I submitted my application through Padspin that very evening.
The application process on Padspin was straightforward, and I received updates on the status of my application in real-time. Within a day, I received the good news – I had been approved to rent the apartment! I couldn't believe how smooth and stress-free the process had been, all thanks to Padspin.
Moving day finally arrived, and I settled into my new apartment with a sense of accomplishment and relief. I had successfully avoided the crazy broker fees and found my dream home in the heart of the city, all thanks to Padspin.
My experience with Padspin had been nothing short of a game-changer. It not only saved me a significant amount of money but also spared me from the stress and uncertainty that often accompanies apartment hunting in New York City. Thanks to Padspin, I was able to start a new chapter of my life in the city I had always dreamed of, with a beautiful apartment to call home.
The platform itself is incredibly user-friendly. I was able to easily filter through a wide range of listings that matched my criteria. The search options are robust, allowing you to narrow down your choices by location, price range, and amenities. This made it so much easier to find the perfect apartment that suited my needs.
What truly sets Padspin apart is the absence of broker fees. This was a huge relief for my wallet, as those fees can add up to a substantial amount. I felt like I was finally in control of my apartment search and finances. Plus, it's such a relief not to have to deal with pushy brokers.
I can't recommend Padspin enough to anyone who's tired of paying those hefty broker fees. It's a money-saving gem that has made apartment hunting not only stress-free but also budget-friendly. Thanks to Padspin, I found a fantastic apartment that I can now call home without breaking the bank!
But you'll notice upon further inspection that while that page exists and has some reviews on it, Padspin is not, in fact, accredited by the Better Business Bureau. And if you do a bit more digging, you'll find that Padspin isn't so much a company as it is our friend Jeff, alone, scrambling as fast as he can to fill apartments for whoever has been confused into working with him. And his reviews are just awful. So awful he's hidden his Yelp page so you can't find it. Is that necessarily going to be a bad thing for you? No. He might get you a place, and he might do it really quickly. He asks for way too much information, expects you not to ask questions when he tells you to put a large amount of money down just to apply for a place, gets irritable when you ask him to provide receipts, and is generally unclear about what his relationship is to the landlord he's trying to hook you up with. But! If you use a patient customer service voice and are good at saying no and asking questions in a way that doesn't upset him, he will in fact produce a cheap apartment for you very quickly. I do not know how nor do I wish to know how, because if I had to guess, I'd say he took my application info and just absolutely fudged it to make it look better. Which y'know. That's on him, not me. Thanks Jeff.
THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! I posted a listing and hadn't heard back in a few days so sent an email... there is NO PHONE NUMBER listed ANYWHERE! Finally someone calls me back. No introductions, just some guy named "Jeff" calling from PadSpin and BAM! Personal questions about me and my lease and when I interrupted to inquire if this was part of a formal process and why I should be answering all these questions, he responded with "you think I am just calling you on a Saturday because I am bored?!" I was shocked, but continued and then still very caught off guard, I questioned who he was and his position at the company... then he started literally screaming at me and hung up on me. I immediately sent an email to have a customer service manager contact me, that was 2 days ago and still no reply. So I echo the above and would agree that the behaviors received are very disrespectful and incompetent. I am still left very confused and my listing is still "under review".
