Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: The only conflict in our stories revolve around the initial work and payment The work was done unsatisfactorily I called Paint Crafters, they agreed and without any fuss they redid the job and I paid the bill in fullI am confused about their payment allegationAt no time did I try to get them to reduce the billI did not want a bad job under any conditions Last spring I called them because the paint was peeling and their representative told me of the complexities listed above and said he would get back to me He never got back to me nor did he return my calls My only point of contention is the work should not have been done the first place if the life of the job was only going to be two years I should have been advised of the scope of the work at that time Then I could have made a decision of how to proceed and do the job correctly so it would last I wasted $1,due to decisions made by an advisor who by the nature of the situation has a fiduciary responsibility to inform me of all future failure possibilities regarding longevity the job This was not done. it and wanted a reduction. We reduced the job to our cost with no profit in order to satisfy the client. Never was there a complaint about the workmanship.
Through the years the southwest side of Mr [redacted]s house has areas of severe degradation, which makes it difficult to apply a remedy that is a long lasting fix. The other variable is the specifics of trim detail on the home. Many of the trim areas are not sloped to let water run off, instead they are hard 90 degree edges that catch water and in turn lets water infiltrate behind the trim causing the paint to blister. I personally met with Mr [redacted] this spring and explained that this was an issue along with lack of maintenance through the years. Once a substrate has gone too far, it is difficult to remedy a long term fix. We urge our clients when they have an issue like this to consider it a maintenance item and they need address these issues on a annual or bi annual basis. I told Mr [redacted] that I thought a possible longer term fix was to have a sheetmetal company fabricate a sheetmetal system to go over the bad areas. I told Mr [redacted] that I would see about contacting a company to look at the work. I called two separate fabricating companies to see if they could help on this and both said they were not interested. I relayed that message in a voicemail to Mr [redacted] and did not receive a response. Mr [redacted] is correct that he has called the office a few times to re hash the issue and I have not returned his calls.
In conclusion, all of our work is guaranteed for labor and material for a term of one year from substantial completion of the job. Mr [redacted] contacted our office two years after the work was performed. Normally we go to great lengths to make sure our clients receive the highest quality of workmanship and strive to make sure that each client is fully satisfied. Had Mr [redacted] not shorted us up front we would be more than inclined to help further with the situation. The fact that I met with Mr [redacted] to even discuss the issue after not being paid in full shows who we are as a company. We have been in business for 26 years and have been with the Revdex.com many of those years with not one incident. I am not willing to give Mr [redacted] a refund of any kind. I have gone up and beyond with this client and I feel we have more than done our part to resolve this issue.
