Paladin Data Corp Reviews (1)

[redacted]DOCUMENT ATTACHED[redacted]
21 December 2016 Dear Sirs;
In response to your letter pertaining to [redacted], here are the facts. On the 31th of March 2015 [redacted] purchased from [redacted] 2 Electronic payment terminals; model Ingenico iSC 480 encrypted for Vantiv Payment...

Processing, for $1814.08 including shipping. At the time of purchase Paladin Point of Sale software did not have an EMV (EuroPay, MasterCard, VISA) offering for electronic payments on any platform with any processor. As of 21 December 2016 Paladin Point of Sale software does not have an offering for EMV for merchants processing with Vantiv using the Ingenico iSC480. We do have an EMV certified solution for the Ingenico iSC250 processing with Vantiv.
The claim of fraud is unfounded. Paladin Data Corp has not advertised in print or otherwise any claim to have EMV capability with the Ingenico iSC480’s. [redacted] recounts in their statement they knew the terminal where not EMV enabled upon installation. If the terminals were purchased with that misunderstanding they could have been returned at that time for a full refund. The statement was made “we are working on that” that is a true statement, there will be an “additional fee ($400) for a third party software license” that is almost a true statement, the price is actually $399.00.
The misunderstanding here is Paladin Data Corp does not own the payment processing. The payment processing is owned by the processor, in this case, Vantiv. Vantiv dictates the equipment, the software interfaces and the certifications; which were mandated to them by the card brands VISA, MasterCard and EuroPay. Paladin Point of Sale software interfaces to those requirements to allow a seamless check out process for the merchant. Paladin Data Corp does not produce the technology to drive payment applications. We interface to the technology provided to us by the processors. Paladin Data Corp does not guarantee or warranty any expense free technology for any future third party software or hardware.
EMV is not a requirement it is an option a merchant may choose if they so desire. The terminals [redacted] have function exactly as represented. They are currently running the highest standard of security available P2Pe with tokenization. EMV is actually an older technology with its own security issues.
The remedy requested is possible if [redacted] is willing to except replacement of their iSC480’s with iSC250’s. The iSC250 terminals with be recertified units with the same equivalent warranty remaining as the iSC480’s they have in their possession. The third party software will be installed for no charge. There are also two security mounts that will need exchanged and we can accommodate at no charge.If [redacted] is in agreement with this offer, they may contact Paladin customer service and the exchange can be completed.
