We received your letter regarding a complaint that was filed against our businessThe menus at the cashier Counter were printed over years ago and the prices are out of dateDue to cost of labor, materials, etc., prices of items have gone upWe have been hand correcting the prices in the menus to reflect the Current pricingWe have not thrown out the menus and re-printed new ones because that would be wasteful and very expensive for us as a small business.The prices on the menu board on the wall are up-to-date and reflect the correct pricingWe are not Stre what the Customer ordered but there are no items on the menu board that are listed at SThe Cashier did not purposefully intend to ignore the customer when the customer questioned the pricing discrepancyThe cashier's English speaking skills are limited and she was notable to converse with the Customer to resolve the customer's concernsWe are very sorry that the customer felt ignored as this was not the cashier's intentionIn regards to the soda pricing, sodas and other drinks are priced differently depending on the brand, size, etcAgain we are not sure what soda was purchased to verify if there was a discrepancy in pricingWe are a neighborhood small business and value our customers very muchWe never deceive our customers and always make sure to charge the correct pricesCustomers are always welcome to ask about prices on any items at any timeWe want to make sure our customers are happy so they keep shopping with us.Thank you,Palisades Deli and Market

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:While it is true that the menus were printed over years ago as were the prices on the wall, they made no effort to change them until this complaint and I suspect they would not have unless I complained If the menus are being hand corrected so that the prices in the menus reflect the current pricing, this has only been done since the complaintThe prices on the menu board on the wall are now up-to-date and reflect the correct pricing but, again, this was not done until my complaintThere are no items on the menu board now that are listed at Sbut there were several before they were changed after this complaintI know the cashier for I do live in the neighborhood and her English is adequate enough for her to be running the store for her sister and brother-in-law I think she became flustered because she didn't know what to say when I confronted her about the pricing since she does not make any business decisionsWe hold very detailed conversation about many things and her English speaking skills are not so limited that she didn't understandShe may have been "put on the spot" because she was only doing what she was told to doYes they are a neighborhood small business but this store is one of many they own in the DMV areaWhen a price is listed and another is charged without any mention of the difference that is deception and always making sure to charge the correct prices when they are different than what was posted is deceptionMost people don't pay attention to pricing anymore and when several items are purchased they just pay the totalI was buying two items and had just looked at the board so I was aware that the price was different and did ask about prices on both itemsI think the reason their response bothers me the most it is that most of it is deceptive and if I had never said anything chances are they would have continued to do so All of this said, they have changed the prices on the menu board on the wall I didn't see the menus so I don't know about them but I will let you know if they do this againI appreciate your assistance in getting this resolved and you can consider this matter closed Regards, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:While it is true that the menus were printed over 5 years ago as were the prices on the wall, they made no effort to change them until this complaint and I suspect they would not have unless I complained.  If the menus are being hand corrected so that the prices in the menus reflect the current pricing, this has only been done since the complaint. The prices on the menu board on the wall are now up-to-date and reflect the correct pricing but, again, this was not done until my complaint. There are no items  on the menu board now that are listed at S4.95 but there were several before they were changed after this complaint.
