On September 29, 2015, I attended Dynasty Bathrooms to view products as I was renovating my bathroom. I dealt with a sales lady who showed me a few bathtubs with product names of Mirolin and Maax. She steered me away from the MAAX product by tapping the side of the tub and telling me that it was inferior to the Mirolin. I settled on purchasing the right hand Mirolin Phoenix Tub at a cost of $289.00 plus tax which I paid for at the time. I was prepared to take the tub but she advised that there was no one in the warehouse to assist me to pick up the tub and besides, there was no need to take the tub until I needed it as it was their signature tub and there were always lots in stock. She advised me to call ahead when I was ready to pick up the tub.
On Thursday, October 15, 2015, I called Dynasty and spoke with this sales lady advising that I would like to pick up the tub later in the day. She asked if I had been called to say the tub was in. I told her that she had told me that there were always lots in stock. She stated that she would call me back as she would check in the warehouse. She called back to inform me that there were none in stock , the tubs were on back order. I asked if she could check when they would be in as I needed the tub for Monday, the day the contractor would be starting the renovation.
I attended Dynasty around lunch hour on the 15th as I had not received a reply as to whether the tub would arrive by the weekend. The manager who was seated in her office stated that she was aware of the situation and that a call had been placed to Mirolin. I asked her how a business could take money for a tub and not have one available. She immediately became confrontational and blurted "you were told that the tub was on order". I told her that I was not told that it was on order and that it could be picked up at any time. She stated that she has overheard other sales presentations by this particular sales person and that the she would not have said that it was available at any time and asked why I was arguing with her. I replied that it was she who was arguing and that she was not present at the time I purchased the tub and therefore did not hear the conversation. She then stated something to the effect that there was no right handed tubs in stock as Mirolin had only shipped 4 left handed tubs from the order Dynasty had placed on September 28, 2015. She also stated that I could have a refund of my monies.
As I was still willing to purchase the tub, if it could be available by October 19, I asked that she call me after she had spoken to Mirolin when the next order would arrive. I received a call within the hour from the manager stating that MIrolin would not be shipping until November 9, 2015. She then offered me a 32 inch wide MAAX tub and I told her that it was too wide and that the sales lady had said that a MAAX tub was a low end tub and not as good as a Mirolin. She replied that the tubs were good but they (Dynasty) prefer the MIrolin because it is a more comfortable tub.
After purchasing another tub from another retailer, I attended Dynasty on October 16th and another sales lady gave me my refund. The original sales woman was also present. When she was finished with the other customer, I asked her why she would tell her manager that I had been told that the product was on order. Her comments to me with her head down was that she did not want to get in a" he said, she said" conversation and that Dynasty sells the bathtub for far less than their competitors who sell the same tub for $500.00. This was an unsolicited comment as I had no reason to ask about what price other retailers were charging. As I had looked around for the same tub and could not find one, I asked her who her competitors were that were selling the tub and she replied "Look it up on the Internet".
I have the following issues with the professionalism and customer service of the two staff members at Dynasty Bathrooms:1)The sales lady talked me out of picking up the tub on September 29th . Was this because she knew there were no tubs in stock because the manager told me that the order was placed on the day before? Why not tell me that there were none in stock? 2)It was obvious she had told her manager that she had conveyed to me that the tub was on order. Regardless the manager immediately took the approach that the customer was wrong and that she fully supported the sales lady. The manager's initial comments and attitude are not what I would expect from a manager.3) The fact that this sales lady could not look at me when I questioned her on the 16th makes me believe that she will say anything to make a sale and then say anything to cover up her misrepresentations. Customers should be wary of any representations by sales staff and ensure every thing is in writing when dealing with this Company.
