Palm Beach Orthopedic Institute

My wife was seen by a foot and ankle specialist at Palm Beach Orthopedic Institute. The doctor was marginally OK but their billing practices are shameful. First off they refuse to see you you unless you hand them a credit card BEFORE seen, they after they have your credit card information on file, they have continued adding new charges without our knowledge or approval. This facility needs to be disciplined for billing unnecessary charges to our credit card without our approval . I spoke with their medical director, Natasha, on the phone about this. Now they are refusing to provide any follow up care to my wife and have committed patient abandonment. I would avoid this facility at all costs. There are probably 1200 orthopedic surgeons in this county and many are totoally incompetent. They swarm around this area because of so many senior citizens here just like us.

I was refused service within the first 3 minutes of my appointment for suggesting I require an MRI to diagnose the issue.

Two months ago my daughter went into the Center to check on a pulled quad. I was satisfied with the PA and their recommendation. However once I had my daughter attend physical therapy I was extremely disappointed. Not so much with the care but the cost. For one session I paid $75.00 up front which I thought was fair but was very upset when I received a bill stating several other costs for one therapy session: $222,$60.00,$284 for a total of $566.00 plus the $75 I paid up front. Total cost $641.00 for one therapy session! My insyrance picked up the deductible but I was still saddled with an unfair cost. I called my insurance company and reported it but to no avail. I spoke to the Group and they informed me the reason for the three separate costs is because of the three different exercises for therapy! I'm sorry but total rip off. The PT group is in the same office area so obviously they promote themselves. I have no issues with the qualified doctors but do not use the PT. Go separately and examine all costs up front
