This is regarding claim# ***This PT cruiser came to our shop on August 24th, with no air conditioningThe *** stated that they heard a hissing sound and the A/C quit workingWe took A/C pressure to verify that the system leaked out its refrigerant and it hadWe pinpointed the
leak in the high pressure hoseThe customer authorized the $A/C repair and we got to workWhile the vehicle was apart we found a lower engine mount torn through and brought it to the customer's attentionThey authorized a $to replace the bad mountOnce both repairs were completed we test drove the vehicle to verify that the A/C functioned properly, which includes verifying the operation of the A/C condenser, cooling fanVehicle reached operating temperature and everything functioned so we delivered the car August 26th for the sum total of $The temperature on August 26th was degrees, August 27th it was and the 28th it was It seemed like the vehicle made it through quite a few high 80's and low 90's degree daysdays total before it developed an overheating issue and we received the phone callThe address we have on file for this customer is miles away from our shopOn September 14th we received a phone call to schedule the PT cruiser back in for an overheating issueThe vehicle came back September 16th and we didn't have time to look at it until late in the afternoonThe customer called for an update before we had the chance to look at it and naturally was upsetWe had two PT cruisers on the lot and the technician got in a hurry and looked at the wrong oneWhen we called the customer to describe that we can't drive the vehicle because a shift cable was bad he sounded very confused and even angrier at usI quickly realized that the technician looked at the wrong car and apologized but there was nothing we could say at that pointThe customer came and got his vehicle before we got a chance to look at itWe understand how important it is to look at a "comeback" vehicle right away and know that we failed to do thatAlthough the facts show strongly in our favor that fixing the A/C leak and engine mount didn't cause the vehicle to overheat 21days laterWe realize that this comeback slipped through the cracks and our deepest apologies goes out the customer for thisWe have made modifications in our office to prevent this from happening again because our goes is to perform quality auto repairs and keep our customers on the road with smiles on their facesTo make things right we would be more than happy to bring the PT cruiser back into the shop and diagnose the overheating issueFeel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or concernsThank you,
