face="Calibri" size="3">On September 1, 2015 Palmetto Bancshares, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, The Palmetto Bank, merged with United Community Bank (“United”).  United is the surviving entity and the responsible party for submitting the response to Ms. [redacted]’s complaint filed with the Revdex.com.

United representatives have worked with Ms. [redacted] over the past several months regarding the issues raised in her complaint.   Most recently, United believes that Ms. [redacted] provided her online banking account credentials to someone not affiliated with the account and subsequently a counterfeit check was remotely deposited to the account through mobile banking.  The decision to close the account was predicated by this incident, and our decision was communicated to our customer accordingly.

Upon receipt of the Revdex.com complaint, we provided a detailed written response to Ms. [redacted] for each item raised within the complaint.  Additionally, we granted Ms. [redacted]’s request for an extended period of time to open an account with another financial institution prior to our closing her account with United.  We trust this extended timeframes meets with her satisfaction, and as explained in the letter, we are happy to assist with transitioning electronic deposits and payments to the new financial institution.
