Pam Zellers Accounting & Tax Service Reviews (3)

May 19, 2016This letter is in response to your recent correspondence of August 22, concerning the situation with *** *** ***.As you know, I have previously responded to this complaint with what I feel to be a fair and reasonable explanation of the situationI do not feel a refund is in order but I would like to extend a credit of the full amount of the $for tax preparation of his taxes for 2016.We prepare taxes in many states across the nation and I have prepared many California returns as my family has lived there for many years and had acquired quite a clientele in that state.I hope this meets with everyone's satisfaction.Sincerely,Pam Zellers

Dear *** ***,It was never my intent to take this complaint to an outside party but was unable to get a response from PamUnfortunately, my wife passed away this year and had some additional paperwork to file for my taxesThis included estate tax paperworkMy wife always handled these matters so this was not something was familiar withMy wife and used this tax preparation service for many yearsSo when had a question about why this wasn't done, I had my daughter call for meI have a hearing problem so have difficulty with phone conversationsShe spoke with Pam's assistant who let my daughter know she was out of the office, that she would take a message, and indicated that I would hear back from Pam when she returned to the officeunderstand tax season is very busyHowever, being a long time customer of Pam's, I would have expected a response back from herMy daughter called Pam's office as per my request on:• April 8, 2016, • April 12, • April 16, 2016Pam never returned any of those calls as explained to her assistant that we needed to understand why she filed the way she did so we could move forward with completing my taxes properlyThis is why I am so upsetHer correspondence to the Revdex.com is the first response we have heard from Pam on this matterThis is not very professional.Pam filed my taxes knowing that the estate tax paperwork was not completedThis required me to file an amended return at an additional cost of $to include this informationIf Pam knew she could not file the estate tax paperwork, she should have let us know prior to filingin my opinion the service paid Pam for was done incorrectly and incurred additional costs for me to fix with the help of another tax professionalThis tax professional expressed the same opinion on the matterCommunication would have resolved this issueIt was a complete lack of customer serviceThere was no communication to me regarding the issueI would expect more from a business that have used for years.Sincerely,

May 19, 2016This letter is in response to your correspondence of May 16, 2016 concerning [redacted]. This was the first correspondence received on this matter.[redacted] and his late wife have been my clients for many years. For all of those years they have expressed satisfaction in the...

preparation of their tax returns. This past year when [redacted] brought in his tax information, he had as estate paper of a small amount. He was clearly informed that I did not prepare estate returns and he was advised by me, Pam Zellers, to take it to his lawyer who was already handling the estate affairs. He was in a hurry to get his taxes prepared as he was selling everything and moving to California. I prepared and filed the 1040 and state and local returns from the Information he presented for 2015. His daughter called my office several weeks later. I was not there, however she told my assistant that she wanted a "refund" of the modest fee of $140.00 for this service. She informed my assistant that they had to pay an accountant in California a $500.00 fee to add the schedule K and prepare a1040X form. These are additional forms to what had prepared. I was aware that if the attorney had not filed the estate return, which generates the schedule K-1 form, it would be necessary to file a 1040X. Since my work was included in these calculations, which constituted most of the it should be noted also that my business is “Pam Zellers Accounting and Tax", not work, I did not feel should have to refund the small amount had charged. [redacted] was notified that Tuesdays were my days to see clients on the road and yet she called again on a Tuesday, when I was sure not to be available. I never spoke to [redacted] on this subject and did not know that "he" was unsatisfied. To sum it up, I was paid for what I did and the accountant in California was paid for what he or she did. I do not see a problem as [redacted] was notified that I did NOT prepare estate returns and had advised him what to do. I have been in business for 30 years and have never had a complaint before. I like and respect [redacted] and hope this settles this matter. It should be noted that my business is "Pam Zellers Accounting and Tax", Zellers Accounting and Tax Service. This is another firm owned by [redacted] and unrelated to mine. Thank you in advance for making this adjustment.Sincerely,Pam Zellers
