Pamela Burch - State Farm Reviews (1)
Numerous discrepancies with billing & life insurance policy. Failure to transfer my file to a new agents office & unauthorized deductions from my bankI have been a loyal customer with State Farm Insurance for approximately 14 years. During this time I have had several agents represent me due to work relocation. Until recently I have never had an agent make so many errors with my accounts until SF Agent [redacted] started handling my account. As a loyal customer I have been signed up for automatic drafting for years. Over the past several months the amounts drafted have been inconsistent and lack a thorough explanation. At this point I became alarmed but continued to use this office. However after my life insurance policy became intangled in such a mess that my payments were refunded to me I decided it was time to seek a new agent. I found a new agent that so happen to be closer to the house. I contacted the new agent & informed him of my intentions to transfer to his office. I too contacted [redacted] immediately and informed him of my intentions. I explained it was nothing personal but due to all the inconsistencies I would be transferring to a new office closer to my home. He acknowledged my request and even sent me a message stating the transfer was started. Also because of all discrepancies SF was refunding us a check for $442.50 and he stated we had to pick it up at his office. My wife drove the hour commute to get the check and deposited it into our bank account. Which brings us to today's events some 8 days later!! My wife finds out through our bank that the check had a stop payment placed on it. No representative from State Farm contacted us prior to the stop payment to inform us of such action. I advised her to contact our new agent to discuss the problem. Our supposedly new agent had yet to receive our file. Our new agent contacted [redacted] via e-mail to inquire of my transfer. He responded back saying he would inform [redacted] his supervisor and agent in charge of this location. My complaint is that [redacted] office represented by [redacted] purposely drug their feet with my transfer and placed a stop payment on a refund check. They failed to process my request and failed to notify me they would be stopping payment on a check several days after they handed the check to us in person. This is bad business and certainly not how you treat a loyal customer of 14 years!!! Desired SettlementI expect immediate refund of $442.50 for the stopped check. I too expect there be some disciplinary action taken against Mr.[redacted] and at a minimum customer care training and review of policies and procedures. State Farm should be embarrassed that they have agents treating their loyal customers in such a manner. Business Response As usual, there are 2 sides to the story. However, action was taken to resolve his issue. An agent's office is not authorized to stop payments on checks. What he does not realize is we were working to resolve an issue we did not create. It is actually more complex and has been turned over to those who have the authority to help him with his issue.
