Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/08) */
The [redacted] family, [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] was originally seen in Aug. 2014 at our office for complete visual examinations. Per our policy, at that time we made them a one year appointment. 2-3 weeks prior to their appointment we mailed...

an orange reminder card. The day prior of their appointment we made a reminder call and asked if they still had Blue Cross insurance. [redacted] insurance had changed to IEHP. On Aug 6 we obtained IEHP authorizations for [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] for their Aug. 7, 2015 appointment from 2-3:00 PM. They failed to show up and they did not call to cancel.
Mrs. [redacted] called to reschedule their appointments for Aug. 11 at 10:00 with [redacted]. Once again they failed to show or call to cancel, postpone or explain.
Aug. 13, 2015 [redacted] with IEHP called asking us to release [redacted]'s authorization. [redacted] said no Blanca asked for a reason and [redacted] said they have scheduled twice with us and failed to show or call. They needed to call us to confirm transfer of care.
On Aug. 14, 2015 [redacted] called and asked us to release the IEHP Authorizations for her family. Her 18 year old refused to get in car to come for the appointment with our office on 8/11/15. He wants another doctor so she will have her family go elsewhere. I explained that we have no problem releasing authorizations for cancelled appointments but it is our policy not to release authorizations on no shows for 3 months. We are happy to reschedule these appointments as we can. We have blocked out the time for their appointments twice, gotten the authorizations and printed all paperwork. She personally had made two appointments and we allotted two hours of time for her family. We work by appointment only and would have appreciated a call to either cancel or reschedule. [redacted] said she didn't think a call necessary since they had already missed the appointment. [redacted] stated that "she doesn't think she should be pubished just to keep our patients." De Nese reminded her that most doctors charge for missed appointments. We would be happy to see her family, but not release authorization without her permission. I said I would discuss this with Dr. Miller. Per Dr. Miller that afternoon the authorizations were released to IEHP. I called Mrs, [redacted] back and left a message informing her that authorizations were released .at XXX-XXX-XXXX.
