On Sunday 2/23/20 at approximately 11:00 AM
I went into the subject Bakery and bought $23.00 of Mexican sweet breads and half a dozen Tamales. I walked up to the cashier which is located at the front of the store and the women at the counter started bagging the items and ringing up the total. I found out after the fact that this woman is the owner and goes by the name of ***. As she rang up the amount I never saw the register since it is an older version and I didn't pay any attention to it, the amount seemed reasonable so I said OK to the $23.00. She asked me to walk to the back of the store where the card reader is located. The card reader is also very old and did not display the amount, when she said it was $23.00 I input my pin # to accept the charges. After she printed the receipt she looked at it and said she had made a mistake. She input #230.00 rather than $23.00. I asked her to please cancel the transaction and she said she would try to do it and started. It turns out that she could not do it for some strange reason. She told me that she would have to get someone else to do it for her. One of her employees came over to help her and she said she couldn't do it either. At this point they asked me to come back the next day which is Monday, that she would have her employee who is familiar with the process do it. I politely agreed and said I would be back on Monday. I told her that if she couldn't do it that I would accept cash or if she did cancel the transaction I would come back to pay her for the difference. So basically, I didn't have much of a choice. I asked her to give me a receipt of the transaction which is attached, I also asked her to sign it which she did and also signed it with a statement in Spanish. The statement 'Se Debe? which translates to I.O.U in English.

On Monday 2/24/20 at approximately 4:30 PM
I stopped at the bakery and spoke to one of the other employees, she spoke English and I asked for *** and she said she was not there. I explained to the employee and she understood and offered to call her which she did in my presence. I asked her to ask *** about the transaction and if she had followed up on it like she said she would. *** replied that she had taken care of it and that it should show up o my account in 24 hours. I asked if she had a receipt which she said she did but did not have it at the time. She said that she would call me on Tuesday and explain the whole thing to me and provide me a copy of the receipt. I left my cell # with the employee, I heard her tell the owner to call me and that I would be back. I also mentioned the fact again that I would accept cash if she was unable to cancel the transaction. She said OK.

On Tuesday 2/25/20
I called the Credit union again to see if they could confirm the cancellation transaction.
They were unable to confirm, so basically it was never done. I was very disappointed that at this point the merchant has not made any reasonable attempt to rectify this situation. I have been patient and have made repeated attempts to get this resolved with no cooperation. The facts are that they didn't call me back, they are not telling the truth about processing the transaction, and they are being deceptive about the receipt which they say they have but can not provide it. Not one but all of these facts together lead me to believe that they are being fraudulent and do now want to pay me the money they took with out my authorization.
