moved me last week What a great experience in a stressful time My team was Adam, Anthony, and the tall "J" man They arrived promptly as scheduled They were friendly, helpful, and professional Everything was padded and loaded in record time On arrival at my new home they unloaded, put everything back together, and arranged furniture where I wanted it Not a thing was damaged or broken when I unpacked Great movers for anyone but especially if you're an older lady & doing it alone Wonderful job guys - thank you!
DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - YOU WILL REGRET IT Trust me when I say that the few pennies they will save you over more well known movers well not be worth it As they are lowballing their estimates and then charging you later And maybe even that would have been okay- but worse happened First of all, I begged Javier, the guy who answers the phone, to come out and see my stuff - so that I had an accurate estimate He refused and I thought we would be ok However, the minute the three drivers showed up, they started *** and saying it would not fit in the foot truck, Them foreman actually spent his first minutes calling Javier and *** and telling me that Javier should have come out This man was years old with a bad back and spent the rest of the day complaining about his aches and pains and saying that he should be retired I agree
Needless to say, they did not load all of my stuff on the truck - they left so much stuff - another foot truck could not fit the rest The foot truck was not full - but they refused to add anymore saying it was full They broke my to pound china cabinet when they propped it up on its legs at my old address At my new address, they scraped and dinged the walls and even caused two or three gaping holes in my newly painted apartment They took the bare minimum upstairs to my bedroom and living room and left the majority in the garage They weren't even going to out up my bed - but I cried that I had no way to get anyone to help and had no more money - as they hit me up for an additional money before they emptied the truck and if I did not pay - I guess the stuff wasn't even going to hit my garage I let the foreman know about the chin CABINET AND THE WALLS and also called Javier on the day of my move and let him know The insurance company was disgraceful - they had very stringent times and even though they were supposed to pay $per pound - they decided my china cabinet only weighed pounds and they refused to fix the wall even though they forced me to get estimates with a very short time frame and are saying I must accept this measly payment of $within days of receipt of their offer, which took since July for them to determine In the meantime, my china cabinet is still leaning on two legs where they left it in my office and I still have many heavy items and furniture that needs to be moved up from the garage I already had to go back to my apartment and get the rest of my stuff with a foot truck and had to pay for another truck and more movers again do not use this company - or you may just end up with a similar story to mine
After another company had let us down we contacted 1776 Moving and Storage at short notice and and were so glad that they were the company that moved our home.
They are the most professional,courteous and effecient organisation I have dealt with and the team who did the work were superb.
I am not often given to submitting reviews but an exception had to be made in this case.
When you call to get quotes & other info, they don't tell you the value they pay you if they damage your items during the move. They pay pennies per pound of weight. I had a very big & pricey piece of wall art that didn't weigh much was included in the shipping. When the guys came to move my furniture I asked him the question out of curiosity and I almost didn't have them move me, I was in shock. I put my trust in God that nothing would happen. The two guys that moved my stuff did a good job & nothing broken. When you call for an estimate you might want to ask the question about the cost of any damaged items that may happen.
