Pantheon Structures & Renovations Reviews (2)

Review: Company has not returned calls or e-mails regarding 2 newly discovered installation warranty issues.Desired Settlement: Have them correct issues at their cost or full reimbursement to have another installer repair the issues.

Review: A number of problem issues are involved, but the primary underlying issue is the non-delivery of services to complete contract obligations. The purpose of the contract is to construct a new 24 X 28 addition on an existing residence. The stated timeframe of the project per Article 2 of the Contract states that work "…shall be completed by approximately 12/12/13". Below are listed multiple items and issues that are yet to be completed as of this date (May 24th):

1) The contractor has failed to complete final filling of grade to foundation on a portion of the structure, plus apparent improper water-proofing of foundation, which recently resulted in basement flooding on 8 May 2014 during a rain event. Contractor has failed to respond to an email notice about the foundation leak that was sent on the 9th of May. A telephone message about the issue was also sent to a co-owner on the same date, and a reply has not been received. A subcontractor partially completed rough-grading of the site on May 5th or 6th.

2) Contractor has not installed flashing nor otherwise properly secured and sealed sheathing on exterior of new addition on top of foundation wall beneath deck where it adjoins existing structure. This not only fails to protect against weather damage, but it allows easy access for rodents and other animals to enter the basement.

3) Lawn is yet to be final-graded and seeded to establish sod and stabilize the soil surface. The recommended time of year for seeding grass is early spring and fall.

4) Contractor damaged shower door before installation and advised that he had re-ordered a new replacement door. It has not been replaced.

5) Concrete pad at basement door was damaged upon installation by contractor

6) Homeowners should be compensated for purchases they made to complete project for items that are included in contract, including double-billing for hardwood floor finishing.

7) A co-owner agreed to procure copies of paid receipts for all sub-contractors before homeowners make final payment. Those documents have not been received.Desired Settlement: Contractor completes the project to the homeowner's satisfaction by addressing all of the issues described above by June 10, 2014. If not completed by June 10, the final contract payment amount (minus adjustments for homeowners purchases) will instead be used by homeowners to hire an alternate contractor(s) to satisfactorily address the problems described above.
