Upon first meeting with Mather's they never said they were busy and said the windows would be completed before ChristmasWe had just started remodeling our kitchen so the paperwork had gotten misplaced We were trying to find it so we could contact then since we heard nothing and December
came and wentBecause the weather was getting colder we searched for another window company forgetting we signed a contract with Mather'sThat's where the mix up began That is totally our fault Once things got cleared up they came to install the windowsThey did not have the trim with them that day and said they would install it first chance they could After they did install it we noticed there were scratches in it with a couple of gougesWe called and were told they would replace it When they came out again the driver said it got scratched on the way over and did not install it Finally the third time no problem We did offer a check for $as good faith money since it was taking so long for the job to be completed thinking they may want some of their money The truth of the matter with the locks, they claim the window was not closed all the way If that's the case why did the top one work and not the bottom and a new lock was ordered for the bottom They said they would order a new lock, send it to the house and I could install it My wife decided that it was their job and we were worried about the warranty Like we said it took four screens to finally get it right That's only because I insisted one of the owners to come out He did come out with the person from the screen company and told us it was not measured correctlyChris one of the owners said they have no control over the screens, if I am not mistaken it starts with the initial measurements which came from Matter'sThe few times that they mentioned in their response to you that they claim they had to come out are not even half of the times they came out There were a few times they called and said they were running late and never showed or called back, and a couple times they just never showed or calledBetween the trim, the lock, the screens and the more than a dozen times they had to come out to finish their job we feel the job was not done in a timely matter A one day project took almost a year to complete on top of all the times someone had to be here We are surprised they are still in business for the unprofessional work they doWe wrote to Mather's and asked if they were the customer would they have been happy with the customer service, product and and the time it took to complete a one day job and never received a response

With 100% certainty the [redacted]s were told plans were needed by June.  They were told this the day the architect was there and reminded multiple times.  Their architect could attest to that as I'm sure he will remember.  If not, I guess that very important detail was forgotten.  This was an extensive project and our schedule was very busy.  They were told start date could be in October.  Plans were needed by June because the approval process was lengthy.  This timeline was put in place to avoid any problems.  It was not met.Yes, one paper estimate was provided the first day.  If you review that estimate you will see that it contains multiple individual estimates with in it.  This estimate was typed and read to them for better understanding the day of our initial meeting.  As for potential budget, an email was sent after reviewing the changed plans that stated dormer construction alone was potentially exceeding their initial budget.  A follow up phone call with Lee was had and this was explained to him again. The inspector was given the full plan you initially provided.  He looked at the first page only and said this will not work.  He didn't look at the following pages.I will acknowledge a rough drawing was received to try and give an estimate from.  I did forget about that.  However, the [redacted]s did not provide an official plan until August 22.  This was not a full scale plan with calculations that I asked for and it was over 3 months past the June deadline we set with the architect.  The [redacted]s chose to use someone they knew for the plans and did this process on their own.  The plans were not Mather's responsibility.Turning this into a he said she said dispute is unfortunately not going to solve anything.  If we could turn back time I'm sure we could find discrepancies with both sides of this story but the end result will be the same.  The [redacted]s didn't meet the set deadlines for the plans and Mather's failed at communication.  A copy of a facebook post by Mrs. [redacted] was submitted to our attorney and a letter was sent to them asking to cease comments on social media.  As for answering her questions.  #1This project turned from a couple roof dormers into a full scaled addition which we is more than we could handle.  #2We received drawings on or around August 22.  A phone conversation was had with the inspector and he said drawings would not work.  #3A full set of plans was taken to inspector.  He looked at first page only.  Stamped calculations are dated September 30 and were not provided to us when we met inspector the first time.#4I believe second plans were submitted by you and a conversation was had with Lee and we were told initial approval had been done by inspector and permits were paid for.#5The point that we determined the project became to large for us just happened to fall in that timeline.  #6You had the control of the architect not us.  His delays have directly made us the responsible party.  If our architect had been used the scale of this project would have been determined much much sooner.  #7The second meeting with the architect was unnecessary.  We asked you that he contacted inspector to be sure of what he needed so we could eliminate the inbetween conversations.  #8We asked that the architect work directly with the inspector.  #9Unfortunately we had a scenario where Ben had to go back on the crew and work.  He was putting in long days and occasionally forgot to look at emails and respond to tects.  #10.  We never got the full approved plans so we knew exactly what needed to be done.  Once a plan was close enough we were able to determine this was a huge project and we were not the proper company for it.  #11.The delay in getting plans and the approval process is what pushed this project out.  Not anything Mather's Improvement Service did. Thank you, Mather's Improvement Service

On March 10, 2016 our salesman met with the [redacted]  They talked about a roof and dormer project and our salesman submitted multiple estimates to them that day.  He explained to them that the dormer estimates was likely to change because drawings from an architect would be...

required.  They informed us they had a relative that was an architect and could do the drawings.  Later that month our salesman met back with the [redacted] and their architect to discuss the project.  That day the [redacted] and the architect were told a set of full sized plans will be needed with all the required calculations on them.  The plans were asked to be done by June because the permit process can be long and ever changing with a project like theirs. They were informed that depending on what was determined by the engineer the dormer project would change.  The scope of work would change along with the projected price.  It could change into a project that couldn't meet their budget. They were reminded multiple times in that visit of these things and that full scale plans would be needed by June.  April went by and no plans had been submitted.  In beginning of May we drew up a vague estimate that was only to hold a spot in my schedule during the design process.  That was stated right on the estimate.  They were told a new estimate would be determined with a cost when the plans were approved by the inspector. May, June and July passed with no contact from the [redacted] and more importantly no plans.  On August 22 a set of hand drawn plans was completed and emailed over.  Plans that did not have proper calculations and were not the full scale plans we requested.  A set of the plans were taken to the inspector in September.  The inspector briefly looked at them and he said these won't work.  The [redacted] were informed this and a revision was needed and a full scale plan was wanted.  A second revision to the plans were October 10, 2016.  That revision was given to us by the inspector when we had a second meeting with him.  A third revision was completed on November 7, 2016 and given straight to the inspector and not Mather's.  As you can see communication on both ends may not have been as prompt as we all hoped at the beginning of this process.  As this progressed so did the scale of this project.  It slowly became more than the [redacted] even realize.  According to the plans nearly all the roof structure would be removed and replaced.  Floor boards needed replacing, beams and headers added, load bearing concrete pads.  Electricians would be needed and possibly plumbers.  This project evolved from putting a couple dormers on a house to a full scale second story addition.  This is not what Mather's Improvement or the [redacted] expected.  When this was realized an email was sent and a phone call with Mr. Rasmusan was had. He was informed the scale of this project was going to far exceed the initial projected budget.  Other conversations were had and they were informed the project was no longer within our scope of work.  As you can see the timelines and expectations of the [redacted] were set back from the start by not getting the full scale plans to us by the requested time.  The initial set of plans were nearly 3 months behind schedule.  As revisions were needed multiple times the 180 day time frame on our estimates expired.  This project fell apart on both ends.  There's no denying that.  The [redacted] took their displeasure with Mather's to social media and slandered our name.  I'm sure this extend beyond social media as well.  They were sent a letter from our attorney to stop.  As you can see there is nothing more Mather's can do here.  We never accepted any money towards this project.  It is simply over and we are not doing business with each other.
