We signed a 3-year contract for residential trash pick-up services on 11/29/16, and our bank account was immediately drafted the first payment of $80. The contract stated we would be provided with a 96 gallon trash container within two weeks of the execution of the contract. Three weeks later, we still had not received a can, and upon follow-up was told they had not been able to locate a container for us, but we could place the bags out by the road. I explained that I lived in a rural area with wild animals and that was not an alternative for us. They asked for another week to get us a can. By the first week of January, we still had no can, so I insisted that they let me out of the contract and refund our money. They have released me from the contract, but I now have to wait 6-8 weeks for corporate to cut me a refund check. That means I will now have $80 tied up with WCI for more than three months, and I never received the benefit of their services.
Residential waste removal: The local customer service was nice and helpful but the company hooks you with a 3 year contract that automatically rolls over for another 3 years if you don't realize the contract is up and they keep raising the bill. I will say that the local customer service crew lowered our bill as much as they could but we are stuck for another 3 years. Will NOT renew. We hit some financial bumps on the road but would have to pay hundreds to get out of the contract. In an effort to cut costs we were going to haul our own trash until our finances bounced back. It's just a sneaky, sleazy way to do business.
