This allegation is exaggerated in many ways. I will not
refund any money because the work already performed has exceeded the down
payment by at least several hundred dollars including materials and work hours performed.

After the job has started, [redacted], who refuses to provide
a last name, on several occasions, had expected me to add work beyond what was
agreed. At first I accommodated some of these the requests, but these requests
were not part of the agreement and were becoming too regular and constant.

I was nice enough to remove snow from her driveway. I was
told that I would be paid. I asked for a payment and ** said she would think
about it, and stated that the snow was being removed for my benefit to maneuver
in and out of the premises. Was never compensated.

 **, and once again
last name unknown, on a regular basis has been dishonest in regards to our verbal and agreed upon work arrangement.
On this job, as well as many other assignments I do work beyond what’s
expected, in this case I it was plain and simply being taking advantage of.
To expect a refund after supplying over $300.00 in expenses-  material costs, and providing over 35 hours of skilled work and professional services is simply wrong.
 Note* complaint does
not state, that the work completed was in any way defective ore incorrect.
Regarding a window that was damaged – this window was not
damaged in my presence.
 I have consulted with
a window expert and weather may have caused the damage.
  After materials were
purchased by myself, ** several times changed her mind with paint color and
wall preparation. Why should I pay for materials twice, not to mention the time
wasted.

I [redacted] believe in good conscience that I was not, and will not be properly compensated for my services. Furthermore mistreated.
This is my1st statement and will comply as
necessary by law and with the Revdex.com standards. Any further information please contact me at ###-###-####.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This is to address the detailed list
of the work performed as presented by Quality Customs Painting.

 1) Preparation & clean up: The masking process
used caused additional damages to the wood trim in my home. As stated in the
response dt: 3/11/14, the
painter left the premises in a mess, which resulted in considerable cleanup
efforts and time on the part of [redacted] in critical areas like the kitchen
and bathrooms, which were left unusable until restored.

2) Kitchen : $150 settlement has already been offered
towards the wallpaper removal in the kitchen, which was an independent step of
the processing, calculated per difference in total cost of  (OptionB $1100 – OptionA $800)/2, since there
were two different areas – kitchen and foyer - in the original quote

3) Bathroom 1st floor: It is important to note that all
work was bid and approved on a ‘per-room basis’, and was specifically written
to include ‘complete’ repair and painting of all surfaces as specified in the
contract. This room was never completed in entirety since the painter abandoned
the job and refused to complete the rooms he started on per the terms of the
contract. Despite the incomplete tasks on this room I will offer partial cost
of bathroom quote at $50, since the painter never
communicated the status when he left and I have to pay again for the materials and
labor for completion of the entire room.

4)
Laundry room: This was not additional work added to the contract. All work arrangements
were made in writing. On the contrary the painter was not sure of the procedure
that would be feasible for the wallpaper removal/paint-over thus he himself
asked permission to test out his procedure in a small laundry room and agreed
to restore it to a final paint finish on a complimentary basis just to be able
to ensure he was able to perform the procedure successfully on the larger areas.
Thus no additional settlement will be offered towards this task.

5)
Basement ceiling: This was in the category of a side-task the painter offered
to do while the paint dried in other rooms and was not separately quoted on the
contract. In good faith I will offer $25
towards the cost of the materials used.

6) Basement Bath: It is important to note that all work was bid and approved on a
‘per-room basis’, and was specifically written to include ‘complete’ repair and
painting of all surfaces as specified in the contract. This room was ever
completed to entirety since the painter abandoned the job and refused to
complete the rooms he started on per the terms of the contract. Despite the
incomplete tasks on this room I will offer partial cost of bathroom quote at $50, since the painter never communicated the status when
he left and I had to pay again for the materials and labor for completion of
the entire room.

7) Snow removal: On the day that it snowed heavily, I explained to the painter that
he if preferred to gain easier access to the driveway he could clear a path. I
did notate the agreed upon amount of $25 on the contract and notified him of
the same, to be paid with the residual payment upon final completion of the
project. All discussions that involved money matters were duly updated on the
contract right away. No detail was ever missed. $25 has already been offered towards the snow removal

Conclusion:
Total down payment accepted by the painter = $600
Total owner consents to paying = $300
Final amount due back to owner = $300 payable via certified
cashiers check

This is my final
settlement offer to Quality Customs Painting.

Thank you.
Regards,
**
