Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: They are doing the unfair business practices to exploit the patient, not the other way around for the benefits of the patients.

The issue of what insurance covers or not has also been discussed with them. We are given general insurance coverage by the insurance companies. It is the patients responsibility to TELL US of past dental history, as this is not something faxed to us by the insurance companies. The additional...

fees are because this account was sent to collection. This family had the opportunity to pay the correct balance and they did not. They were even offered a 10% courtesy if paid in full immediately. They did not respond. Due to their lack of timely response the balance will now have to be paid through the collection agency, and there will be no discounts offered.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The dental office asked for the insurance card/information for the coverage on the day of teeth cleaning. Thus, the insurance card was given them for checking three times. Before treatment, we were told to pay for upfront fee $337.60 and rest would be paid by the insurance. The staff urged us to do the treatment right away, so we paid the extra $ 337.60 fee and had the treatment done there. In this case, we would assume the treatment been discussed with the insurance company already. Then, within one month, we got the billing statement asked to pay full balance for total of $1492 (included the $337.60 paid), this amount is more than double on what insurance would pay for ($600~$750) on the same treatment if it is covered, we were kind of shocks. Then again, we called them to arrange the payment, but they were not willing to discuss, and without any notice. The payment was transferred to collection agent, and increased 50% more on top of the original charge. As usual, most of dental office we went to, would discuss it with the patient first, especially if it costs thousands of dollars more, on what is your eligibility and what's your options are under the insurance coverage before the treatments. We were willing to pay extra more as they asked for, but they did things so careless from the way how they treated the patient, and on how to deal with the patient when there was a disagreement on the payment. The extra fee $577 from the collection agent is beyond our ability.
