Paranormal Research Society Reviews (5)

Review: In April of 2013, I paid $103.49 for a "full-tuition pass" to a webinar series advertised by the PRS, LLC entitled "PRS 126: Demonology Overview" which was supposed to run from April 28 - June 3, 2013. After 3-4 sessions, the course ended abruptly and there have not been any updates or addresses about it since. The sessions that were held were plagued with technical issues and were scheduled and rescheduled many times over. In May of 2013, I signed up to become a member of the Paranormal Research Society, LLC's "Bureau" to recieve the multitude of benefits offered including "Bureau-only appreciation events" I paid a total of $300.00 which put me at a "silver" membership status to recieve merchandise including a bracelet, poster, t-shirt, mug, & note from the crew. I have yet to recieve any merchandise. Several other "Bureau-only" events including a web series on the "Cult of Death" and a Bureau Christmas party were initiated/advertised and then abruptly cancelled. On or around November 1, 2013, the Bureau admin, Ryan Buell posted a message stating that an address regarding the organization's future would be taking place on November 15, 2013, but said address never occurred. Since then, the Bureau admins have been notably absent from the site and have not been addressing questions and concerns posted in the site's forums.Do not give this organization any money.Desired Settlement: I would like to be fully refunded for the Demonology Overview webinar for $103.49 and would like to have my membership fee returned in a pro-rated amount from the time admin activity on the Bureau website(http://t[redacted]) ceased (November 15, 2013) to today, March 11, 2014. I would also like the PRS Bureau to cease accepting new members until they can guarantee a return-on-investment.

Review: On 1/21/14, I purchased a Gold VIP Pass for the Conversation With The Dead Tour being held by the Paranormal Research Society. This event was supposed to be held in Boston on 5/6/14. The event was cancelled and attendees were emailed a link so that they could request a refund, donate their ticket to someone else, or use their ticket as credit towards another PRS event. I followed the instructions in the link provided and requested a refund. I was told that my refund would be sent in the form of a check within 30 to 60 days. I emailed PRS to find out if my refund request had been received and on 5/20/14 I received an email stating that it had been received. As of 7/16, 2014, I have not yet received my refund. Numerous other people are going through the same situation as I am. PRS does not have a phone number or/and valid mailing address, so writing to them or calling them has been impossible.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for my Gold VIP Pass immediately. I paid $205.99. If this is not paid immediately, I will be filing fraud charges against PRS. I would like an email AND a letter in writing sent to me, confirming that a refund is on its way to me and when I can expect to receive it. The refund must be in the form of a bank check, money order or US postal money order.

Review: I purchased tickets to an event that was postponed and then later cancelled. The company's return policy doesn't allow for refunds unless the event is cancelled, so when the event was originally postponed no refunds were being issued. Now that the show is cancelled, PRS is stating they never received any money from PayPal (the company they used to collect the money with) and that the customers that bought tickets would need to work with PayPal to get a refund. I've contacted PayPal and they will not handle refunds for this event, and they won't process a dispute to get the refund from PRS since it now has been more than 45 days from the original date of charge (which was 3/22/2014). I then contacted my financial institution of the visa card I used to purchase the tickets and was told it is past 60 days from the date of purchase and that by the Visa regulations, they cannot process a refund. At this point, I am out $310.22 for the purchase of 3 tickets to the Conversations with the Dead tour. PRS needs to be held responsible for their actions and needs to refund all customers that purchased tickets to this event.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund of $310.22 for the cost of the 3 tickets I purchased from PRS.

Review: I had purchased tickets online on 03/13/2014 through paypal for a Conversations With the Dead event to be held in Phoenix Arizona. The event was not until May and before they finally cancelled the event they changed the date of the event. Once they changed the date the offered refunds. I filled out the requested online form on 05/12/2014 and received email notification that they received the refund request on 05/20/2014. I tried in July, when I still had not received any additional information on my refund or my refund itself to go through paypal. Unfortunately I was unable to do anything though paypal for a refund since they have a 45 day refund request policy. My event should have happened more than 45 days after I paid for the tickets. I have patiently waited for my $206.88 refund which was requested on 05/12/2014. I believe this has been more than a sufficient amount of time for them to gather the refund and return it to me. I find it unacceptable to have to be put in a position of losing my money. I have received neither the event that I paid for or the refund for that which I requested so in my eyes Paranormal Research Society has stolen my money. I have been expecting a return to no avail. Hopefully you can help rectify this situation. Thank you - [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a payment that is the same as cash, without the threat of bouncing, of my original purchase of $206.88.

Review: In April of 2013, I paid $103.49 (3:49 ticket fee) for a "full-tuition pass" to a webinar series advertised by Paranormal Research Society, LLC., entitled "PRS 126: Demonology Overview" which was supposed to run from April 28 - June 3, 2013. After 3-4 sessions, the course ended was postponed indefinitely and there have not been any updates about it since September, where the business owner, [redacted] promised the event would restart "soon". The training classes that were held (3) had severe technical issues and were scheduled and rescheduled repeatedly and subsequently never continued. The refund policy clearly states that refunds are only available if the event is canceled. Since they never officially canceled the event, they refuse to refund any funds to over 300 students who paid over $100 for the "class". Since then, [redacted] has held other events, received money for other paid events, and canceled the events with little notice. Their Facebook website clearly shows all the events they have scheduled and is riddled by confused and ripped off consumers. Including people living in Canada! This company does not belong in business. They need to be shut down and all consumers should receive a refund from these frauds!Desired Settlement: I would like to be fully refunded for the Demonology Overview webinar for $103.49. I would like to see this "business" shut down until the reconcile refunds with past consumers who never received the products and services they paid for.
